I'd suggest visiting the branch before proceeding with this agent, the appearance is somewhat akin to sweatshop with crowded desks full of inexperienced agents who appeared to be little over school-leaver ages, something we didn't realize until the lack of experience became painfully evident during ...

Was told a property was unavailable because the current tenant was refusing to leave. Okay, no problem, not Chancellors' fault. Saw the property was back on their website a few weeks later, called up, ASKED SPECIFICALLY ABOUT THE TENANT. Was told she had left, flat ...

What agent could do to change your mind?
If a property's unavailable, take it off your website. If people enquire about it, don't tell them everything's fine when everything is not fine. Be honest!

I am sorry to read that the viewing you had planned was cancelled due to a tenant’s refusal to allow viewings. We are able to arrange viewings for those properties that are currently tenanted, as most tenants are happy to allow access for such viewings to take place. Unfortunately some tenants can decide to refuse viewings and I understand that this particular tenant was not allowing access to the property, however this would not debar the office from advertising the property for sale. ...

Some staff training in handling bereaved relatives should be essential. Hopefully it's a rare occurrence, but it must happen sometimes that tenants die.

On behalf of Chancellors I am sorry for your loss; we appreciate that this is a very difficult time for you and our staff should be aware of the sensitivity surrounding a bereavement and look to assist in any way possible. I understand that the door required immediate securing and an emergency contractor had to be sourced to attend the property that day to make it safe and secure. I am sorry to hear that we requested the keys back at a difficult time for you; our local office would have been hap ...
