Pre-moving in process was absolutely awful. Submitted all information well in advance of our moving in date, sorted out guarantors where we were told to. 2 days before the moving date, Bridgefords announced that we needed ANOTHER guarantor (they had previously said the person in question wouldn't need one) and that they were still waiting on references etc. The day before moving in we were told everything was fine and that they'd received all the references. When we rang the people who'd suppos...

This agent was extremely professional up until the point where they received our money. The guy who took us on a flat tour was really good and inspired confidence. The lady who did the initial paperwork was professional and lovely. The whole commitment process was swift and painless. However,as soon as the deposit was paid, they informed us about an additional list of requirements. There were some complications meeting these requirements.Complications which I had to sort out myself by ringing 'Th...

Stay away from Bridgfrods! Absolutely vile customer service. I have been shouted at down the phone multiple times for making enquiries. I had the unfortunate burden of being handled by Bridgfords after our (very lovely) landlord passed away unexpectedly just before out tenancy started Team as a whole is entirely unprofessional, completely lacking in communication between themselves. Even on the first day, I arrived at the office with another tanant to pick up our keys. I was provided with ...

Totally unprofessional team. I tried to arrange a viewing on a property in early february and despite making a few phone calls, this did not happen. On one occasion when I did ring to ask whether theyy have managed to arrange a viewing, I was rudely told the obviously they have not managed to arrange it as nobody has rang me and when they have arranged it, they will ring me.I did not hear from bridgfords after that. I recently found that the property is still not sold and I phoned bridgfords to ...

Hi, How unprofessional it is that I've had set up viewing flat to rent for 1 week and when the day came, at the morning, the same day, I've got a call that I should bring passports and some prove of my actual accomodation. The same day, when I was at work and after that I suppose go to viewing flat (I was talking with the lady from agency couple of time during week). Countrywide and Bridgfords is the worst imaginable agents. I have never experienced anything as appalling. They rented out a house without any basic checks that water, heating etc was working in the property (which it wasn't). Promises of specified repairs to be done before moving in were never fulfilled. During a full year I spent countless hours chasing them. They cannot be trusted. They are giving empty promises and have absolutely no professional pride or conscience. Several repairs were ne...

Bridgfords is an absolute disgrace of an agency, and I seriously discourage anyone from ever using them. How they are still in business I really don't know, possibly from the extortionate fees they charge and ripping off pretty much all their customers? After initially paying the holding fee for the property (which was far, FAR too much), we were told that as long as our guarantor paperwork went through fine, the property would be ours and we wouldn't have to worry about anything. Weeks went b...

Bridgfords have been horrendous from start to finish. We first looked round flats in August 2014, no one had any information or wanted to help us in any way, and pressured us into putting down a fee for a flat. From then on, we had problems even paying our first months rents and deposit, no one would answer the phone, we were passed around constantly and no one could help, at all!! On our moving in day, we were given a contract for 12 months, when we has asked for and agreed a 9 month contract....

Disgraceful in all aspects. They are the worst letting agents I have ever come across. Nothing but con men.
Comment on agent fees
Agent's fee's of nearly โ€š£190.00, have no idea what this actually goes towards as we did all of our own paper work and were constantly threatened by them if we did otherwise. Rent was very expensive for the area, size etc, and upon moving in it was filthy!! Rip-off.

Back in 2012, I needed to relocate and had found this beautiful flat in a brand new residential building where the final touch was still in progress. The landlord (such an amazing person by the way) had put his trust in Bridgfords to manage the residence. During my visit with the Bridgfords' employee (can't remember who), I was told that the flats were going fast in this new development and that I would probably not get the apartment unless I was to sign a contract straight away, even though I e...

I only wish I had read reviews before signing up with this agency. I am renting a property through Bridgfords as of 17th December but am extremely unhappy with the way that our property has been handled in entirety. 1) Viewing the property, 6 groups of potential tenants were asked to arrive at the same time and then made to wait outside to view one by one. Whilst viewing we were told multiple times that the flat was very popular and would go that night so if we wanted we would have to put th...

1. Don\'t manipulate high stress, time pressured, \'large amount of money handover\' situations. We are the customer here, it\'s only in your best interest and we do not appreciate it. 2. Do not lie. The truth will come out. 3. Respond to all emails and send information when you promise to. 4. Tell us if our flat is up for sale, when you know, not the day before we move in. 5. Please respond to emails with at least one sentence that doesn\'t end in an exclamation mark, it comes across rude. 6. Don\'t lie to tenants and a prospective buyer and then let them meet. Shot yourselves in the foot there. 7. Never EVER say \"If you don\'t like it, don\'t sign it\" and expect the conversation not to turn sour. 8. Make all of your employees email addresses available from the website.
Comment on agent fees
The agency fees at Bridgfords are extremely high. If you dare mention this, they immediately tell you \'you pay for the quality of their services\', that they\'re very thorough and respected. All lies. A moving in or moving out fee is ridiculous. You should pay one amount of money as agency fees to cover whatever admin etc costs and then rent and your fully refundable security deposit. That\'s fair. As for the price of the flat, if you\'re aware of temporary access issues to a parking space, this should be compensated for, if it\'s the property management company that need to fix it, Bridgfords should be chasing them, not the tenant. The Letting agency are meant to manage the property, why should I pay for a space I can\'t use?

Lost for words at what Bridgfords (and by extension Countrywide Estates) have done to my family. When my Grandmother passed away from cancer we were instructed in her will to sell her house. The house my mother and aunt grew up in, and the house I spent the majority of my childhood in. The market was poor and so we asked Bridgfords to put it up to rent in addition to keeping it on the market for sale. The tenant, who from what the police and solicitors have now found out, was I can only assu...

My experience last year with Bridgfords was absolutely horrible. The fees they charge for renting a property as a tenant equate to more than one months rent. They refuse to respond by email or give anything in writing(sign of a dodgy agency) and constantly avoid calls until they need something from you. in this case they expect you to be available straight away. They never check the notes so when you contact them you have to explain the situation over and over again. When i went to pick up th...

If I could give them zero stars I would. I have had the most appalling experience with Bridgfords from start to finish. Communicate, not just with us the landlord but within their office. Deal with their phone calls. Deal with their emails. Assign someone who can talk to us directly about our properties instead of \"going round all the houses\" in the office. Do their jobs without the landlord checking up on them and pointing out their errors.
Comment on agent fees
As we have 3 properties we asked for a reduced full management fee rate which we got. However not convinced we are getting value for money.

Hi. Please read carefully if you will deal with the Manchester Branch, 21 Albion Street!! My experience from this Branch and this man was a terrible one. I would never use this agency again and have suggested to friends considering it to explore other options. Their fees are ridiculous and additional fees seem to materialise every time we speak. The icing on the cake has been £30 for a reference, so that we can finally go sigh another landlord. They are hard to get hold of on the phone, continually lose details of repairs, so you have to re-phone several times. All in all a terrible and costly experience....

When you first deal with Bridgfords/Countrywide, they fill you with confidence that they will provide a second to none service. I have also had problems with Katy Flay at Manchester Bridgfords letting agents. I have just cancelled agreement, which cost ร‚ยฃ600, and have discovered that Miss Flay is on 'sabbatical'!
