What agent could do to change your mind?
Belvoir Lettings could have held accurate records of tenants deposits. Instead, the deposits were not recorded and not registered with the appropriate scheme. Belvoir should also be aware of transactions carried out by there franchisees and also take responsibility when something does go wrong with one of their offices. Landlords are lead to believe that they are backed by the name \'Belvoir\' when really there is no backing, the offices are just individuals trading as Limited Companies and if anything does go wrong landlords recieve no help from the umbrella of Belvoir.

Landlords should be aware that Belvoir does not provide the protection that you expect from such a big name. The Offices are run by franchisees as individual Limited Companies and therefore,as I discovered too late, when the franchisee changes hands, there is a great amount of confusion. This lead to a deposit not being protected and ultimately lost. During a time of many franchisees struggling, belvoir were unable to accurately track records of what the agents had been taking as deposits. Belvoir will not however except any responsibility at all.

I rang on the wednesday to view the property, the lady i spoke to said she would ring the lady doing the viewings and get back to me. she didnt get back to me by the end off the day so i rang and spoke to a different lady. she informed to just go to the viewing the next day at 6.15. i arrived there ... I rang on the wednesday to view the property, the lady i spoke to said she would ring the lady doing the viewings and get back to me. she didnt get back to me by the end off the day so i rang and spoke to a different lady. she informed to just go to the viewing the next day at 6.15. i arrived there the next day after arranging child care, to find out that the house had already been taken. The lady at the house said she rang belvoir on the thursday to confirm she is ok with the viewing, for them to inform her that someone has applied already. the lady at the address was very nice and apologised. I rang bevoir today and the lady i spoke to was very rude on the phone and when i was explaining, she interupted very rudely saying, my details where not on the list and there is nothing i can do till i speak to the lady who you contacted, who is on holiday.

We rented our property out with Belvoir. They took a 2 month deposit (£1150), which they were registering with the TDS, from our tenant and moved him in for us in 2007. What agent could do to change your mind?
I would be really happy if Belvoir could give us back the deposit that they have been holding and collecting interest on since 2007, which I have had to pay the tenant back myself.

We rented our property out with Belvoir. They took a 2 month deposit (£1150), which they were registering with the TDS, from our tenant and moved him in for us in 2007. When the tenancy ended in February 2014, we, with the tenant went to Belvoir for the deposit back, which they refused to pay. They had no trace of it. Apparently we were not actually dealing with Belvoir Lettings (even though that is what the tenancy agreement says) we were dealing with some dodgy franchisee 'trading as' Belvoir. Dodgy franchisee has now left the country taking all the deposits with him. Firstly Belvoir did not hold any records of who had been affected and secondly they are now accepting no responsibility whatsoever. LANDLORDS BEWARE!! You are not dealing with the big company you think is Belvoir, you are just dealing with any old individual!!!???!!!
