Agreed price for property with vendor then tried to force their mortgage advisor down our throats. We already had Mortgage in-place still they asked me to at least speak to them.* I respectfully declined a meeting. I then receive a phone call the next day that if you don't have a Mortgage with them there are other buyers who are interested. So I withdrew my offer. What agent could do to change your mind?
Fee supposed to be knocked down as that was one of the promise from agent. That didn't happens. And as a agency till too much for service provided.

We had a fantastic experience with Barnard Marcus after having such a terrible experience with Cubitt & west in Sutton. Truly awful experience with Barnard Marcus Sutton office. They found a flat in sm2 with the price of £1050.00 per month and asked they if we can reduce to 1000 they said we will look at it, instead of looking to reduce they increase to £1100(reason other people according !! to them offered to them for £1070 so if you want to have that flat you can only have £1100) and I was shocked as we had give to our previous land lord the notice so we couldn\'t do anything about it ...

I mainly dealt with Billy and Zak. They were both very polite, helpful and very respectful when they had viewings in my property. Billy was the one that found me the tenant, he was very efficient and kept me up-to-date with everything. I would recommend Bernard Marcus to others, they are a nice company....

I had lots of questions regarding advice on fees and what lettings package would work for my first lettings property. Natalie helped explain to me what requirements I would need to be a Landlord and understood my financial requirements and I was able to pick a package suitable to my needs. Excellent customer service. Arranged short notice viewings, was prompt, smartly turned out and courteous throughout all viewings. To the point of dropping me off at a viewing with another Agent after I had viewed the last property with him. All staff were polite and helpful, responding to enquiries promptly and with all the relevant information....

Truly awful experience with Barnard Marcus Sutton office. They recommended a tenant, who paid no more rent after moving in. He changed the locks. Barnard Marcus were a complete let-down, and offered no support or help. We eventually got him evicted through our own efforts. The flat is uninhabitable. Barnard Marcus have been wholly unprofessional, and utterly useless, and clearly did not carry out sufficient reference checks. This is a precis of a very long-winded and appaling experience. First time moving out for myself and partner so had no idea of what to expect from estate agents. Through finding a new home through another agent we realised how incredibly awful this estate agent was and this branch. No communication whatsover. No reassurance. Couldn\'t seem to confirm fees until day before we were due to pay and sign contract. So relieved the property we well going to rent fell through. Guy was hardly ever available to take our calls and never responded to any of our messages...

I was thinking of using them to sell my property so I called them as a Β’Γ’β€šΒ¬Γ‹Ε“prospective buyer' to see how they would deal with a buyer. The person I needed to speak to regarding my chosen property was not available, so I left my name and number with Guy (I checked the number with him so he had it correctly), stated my interest in that property and then waited for the return call. I sympathise greatly. We almost bought a property through this agent. I say 'almost' because they fooled us around so much that we eventually lost the house, after having spent hundreds already on lawyers fees. Do yourself a favour and AVOID this bunch of amateurs And charlatans - especially the sleazy 'mortgage broker' who has the ethics of a slug!....

It all started well - we were shown a property that we loved, we signed all necessary paperwork in their office and agreed on our moving date...BUT...while we were still on the train to the hotel, Guy rang us and informed that the landlord of this flat did not in fact own the property and he asked the agency to look for tenants while he was doing his paperwork. We were not informed about that by Guy when we first saw the place and when we signed all the documents. Nevertheless, Guy asked us not to worry and promised to sort it our for us. After not hearing from him for a week after that weekend, we started chasing him on the phone but he would just ignore our calls for TWO DAYS (he would either be on the phone, with another client, or in training). We then just rang one of his colleagues, who told us that there was no way we could get the property by the date we needed (and we have a feeling that Guy new about that all the way through). They did not take the admin fee, but they wasted our time and money for our trip. Guys treated us very unprofessionally and we would NEVER go with this agency again.

Simply rented me a property which is falling apart. Basically heating and the entry phone system is not working at all and left me for two weeks last December with a baby with no heating what so ever. Repeated lengthy letters were sent out informing the problems I am having and every time the answer was just a ball pass where they repeatedly keep saying that landloard was out of the country and waiting to here from him.
