My daughter has been caught the same way and he has stolen deposit and rent.
I have reported it to Essex Police, Trading Standards, Companies House, Zoopla, Rightmove and Primelocation.
Have contact PC Wheeler and am waiting for reply.

If he put the TDS scheme in the contract between you and the tennant please contact the TDS as I got my money back from the TDS even though he never registered my deposit but mentioned the TDS in the contract. Their insurance paid out and will go after Darren for the money. ...

To new victim - I'm a tenant and after it came to light that he'd not registered my deposit, he told my landlord he was posting a cheque for it to them in March. After much chasing they've still not received it. You should go to the citizens advice bureau and pursue him via the small claims court before he's arrested and unable to pay your money back.

I am a tenant and know for sure that employment reference checks were not done on me - there are only two of us in my company and no one got in touch to ask any questions about me.
I'm sure this effects landlord insurance issues as well as the obvious risk factors (I do always pay my rent but know that some tenants are a problem) so I would discourage any potential landlord from using this agent. He is as slippery as his handshake. ...

The same thing has happened to us. We gave £3800 to Morgan Fox, then 2 days before the moving he said the landlord refused to allow us to move in. He said he can only send the money by check, and he will be sending it within 14 days. We didnt recieve ANYTHING.
