I was very surprised to read the negative reviews on this page as they are in no way the same experience my partner and I have received from Abbotts. Whilst we have almost finished selling our property via them (solicitors etc to complete) we have found Abbotts themselves to be absolutely fantastic.
Mark and Mike have constantly kept us updated. Brought us a good number of viewings and have just been an all round pleasure to deal with. We haven't had to chase them for anything - they do everything you ask!
10/10 so far for our experience and would recommend to anyone.

We bought a building plot eventually! We were cash buyers but as Abbotts had marketed the plot without investigating the right of easement(access rights) we were not able to buy the plot until this was sorted out. This was because it was on a private road. The plot only had 6 months left on the planning consent. It took the vendors solicitors took 5 months to sort out leaving us 4 weeks in November in the bad weather time to get the foundations in to comply with planning consent. The plot was basically on the market in an unsaleable position legally speaking as we could have purchased it with no right of access to the plot. Abbotts sent me an email A WEEK after the purchase a standard email about keys!!!!!!!!!!!!! TO A BUILDING PLOT!!!!!!!! I REPLIED BUT HAD NO REPLY We had contact when we first contacted abbotts to buy the plot and no more till the email welcoming us to our new home!! a week after the purchase and to arrange to pick up the keys!!! They need to train staff to look at what they are selling and not just take a picture and stick it in a window. They should have been able to advise the vendor of the position so he could have sorted out the problem sooner rather than after getting a buyer then having to wait 5 months for a straight forward cash buy plot

Promised to sell the property quickly . They said they had customers on their books that wanted property like mine. Truth was poor communication . A badly detailed advert I had to change on right move. An open house event promised but not delivered . Event failed because I agreed to reduce my price to what Mike had suggested, but seemingly he didn't know that for Abbots to stage an open house event it had to be a reduction of 5% or more. By this time I had left for a 3 week holiday leaving my keys with them. The price Reduction Mike had suggested was not enough. But rather than phone me he just didn't stage the event. I didn't find out until I messaged Abbots Debenham on holiday. Mark said Mike had told me the reduction was not enough for an Open House event. This was just not true as Mike suggested the new reduced selling price! This was particularly frustrating as I booked the appointment with Abbots to discuss the open event 1 week prior to the appointment. They clearly don't talk to each other . Between them Mark & Mike have done nothing but waste my time. A warning to anybody thinking of trusting the sale of their property to Mark and Mike at Abbots Debenham don't! Luckily I only signed a 7 week contract with them . If I was tied to these fools for any longer it would be a nightmare
