Would you use this agent again? No

When I first came into contact with L&S I couldn't have been happier. They quickly arranged a viewing of an ideally located city centre apartment, which was within walking distance of work and actually worked out cheaper than my last place overall. I was thrilled. During the initial viewing, I noticed that the walls throughout were in very poor condition - there were large black smudges and marks on the walls in every single room. I asked the agent about this and was told this would be sorted be

Victoria Knight, 157 Hoe Street, London
Would you use this agent again? No

My friends and I feel completely cheated and let down by this agency. I would advise others to think very carefully before using Victoria Knight, based on the treatment we received.

We were the first people to view this property in Walthamstow, were shown around and decided there and then outside the property that we wanted to take it. The agent drove us to the office immediately so we could sign the paperwork and have our documents photocopied (which we had brought along with us to be ultra

Allen & Harris, 26 West George Street, Kilmarnock
Would you use this agent again? No

If anyone out there is thinking of applying for a mortgage, my advice to them would be do not go anywhere near Allen & Harris (aka 'Sequence'), or it will end up costing you a lot of money,, and chances are you still won't get a mortgage, but they will fully exploit the inexperienced first time buyers. It's what they excel at.

They charge a 'lifetime brokerage' fee of approximately £650, then they talk you into buying life insurance, home insurance, a will, etc, and all at almost three times

Essex & Suffolk Lettings, 15-19 Headgate, Colchester
Would you use this agent again? No

I've been renting a property with Essex & Suffolk Lettings for over 2 years now. They are the worst letting agents I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with!

When I first moved in I wasn't able to check the inventory they'd put together, I know that's going to bite me when it comes to moving out. They didn't give me the necessary details to pay my rent. So I ended chasing them for the first two months, asking how to pay it. And can you believe it, they were in the process of charging me

Stirling Ackroyd, 338 Mare Street, London
Would you use this agent again? No

Avoid this company. Read this carefully!

I am a tenant and I have just moved in to my new flat 12 days ago.
And when I first came in to flat, there were water leak, broken blind, locked window without key,
toilets were flushing water constantly, broken sink, clean-less areas and so on.

Also the inventory clerk was in the flat before I come and he has reported as 'good order', 'repair not required'

Am I the only one who think how this flat was ready and what the inventory guy did?

I seriously

Ryder & Dutton, 20 Market Street, Ashton-under-Lyne
Would you use this agent again? No

There is a valid reason why we have reviewed this service as terrible and we really do hope it gets published so others can see what level of service or lack of service Ryder and Dutton provide. The early stages of the purchase was fine but as the process started to enter the final stages, this is where the headache, stress and pressure was piled on to us by Ryder and Dutton. We received a call one morning from Ryder and Dutton and their first words were "The completion date is set to 1st Sept,

Mansell McTaggart, 26 Carfax, Horsham
Would you use this agent again? Yes

I will be firm but fair in my review. Our initial impressions in dealing with both agents were they thought very highly of themselves and it came off them in waves, this is not always an endearing quality however they seemed very professional and we liked the house very much and they were very knowledgeable about the area and the property. Quite often whilst initially viewing you can get a good idea of the sort of offer you can look to put in and you can work with the agent but we got nothing

Tucker Gardner, 16-18 Market Place Ely, Ely
Would you use this agent again? No

I have had the misfortune to be a tenant of 2 properties managed by Tucker Gardner. The first was managed by the Cambridge office and the second by the Ely office. Common themes have occured with both. At both properties we have had domestic appliance (dishwasher) breakdowns which were never resolved. At the first property I eventually bought a dishwasher and had to replumb in the old broken dishwasher at the end of the tenancy. The property was being sold so why this was necessary I will n

Contempo Property, 127 Rosemount Place, Aberdeen
Would you use this agent again? No

I would advise against renting via contempo, throughout our tenancy we had a number of issues arise and Contempo would rarely resolve them sufficiently. A few months after moving in we began receiving emails stating that our rent was overdue, even though we could see that it was in fact paid, therefore we became increasingly concerned as Contempo were expecting us to pay it again. Even when they realised it was their error they didn't inform us, we had to continually call before they admitted it
