I have rented from Thecityrooms for 3 years (2012-15).
First a rather small house for 2 years, later a well-suited apartment. The reason behind my 1-star rating, even though in my opinion even that 1-star is a gift as it is not deserved at all, is the incredibly unprofessional, disorganised and overall terrible service this "agency" provides. It's rather funny how the slogan is "Service you deserve, people you trust" - Here are the two lessons I've learned at my own expenses from that slogan it
Bridgfords is an absolute disgrace of an agency, and I seriously discourage anyone from ever using them. How they are still in business I really don't know, possibly from the extortionate fees they charge and ripping off pretty much all their customers?
After initially paying the holding fee for the property (which was far, FAR too much), we were told that as long as our guarantor paperwork went through fine, the property would be ours and we wouldn't have to worry about anything.
Weeks went b
After a very negative experience with a well known estate agent in the area Igloo were a dream to work with. Igloo gave realistic valuations and advice whilst positively working to do their best for you as opposed to telling you what you wanted to hear.
We dealt mainly with Craig but when he was out of office there were no delays or breaks in communication as someone else in office would keep us up to date or respond to our calls. Communication was second to none both via email and phone which
First contact with Taylors was really good, they then found a rental property which we liked so decided to proceed with. Their service level started to detiororate when we were given 10-15 minutes on the day we were moving to go through a 17 page agreement and sign agreeing to all of the sections within. As we had a removal company waiting we rushed through not reading every page. Shortly after moving in and speaking to our electricity/gas supplier to chase up the transfer, we were advised by th
We approached Breadmore and Webb after having our property on the market for over 8 months with two other agents. We were very disillusioned with the industry. Martin Webb came to value our propery and straight away he installed confidence in us that they would be able to sell our propery because he said they worked differently to other agents. At the time we took this comment with a pinch of salt . However I can truly say they do work very differently to the other agents we had had workings wit
We sold our property, and purchased our new property through Mosley Jarman. We have been dealing with Neil Clubley throughout the process, and he has been excellent to deal with; very professional, clear and informed, with good advice when needed.
Neil valued our property when we were considering putting it on the market, and has remained closely involved in the whole sale and purchase process right through to exchange of contracts last week.
When we decided to put our house on the market all
Friends we've known for thirty years had been delighted with every aspect of their dealings with this agent. Chris arrived promptly, smartly turned out, courteous and with excellent listening skills. Of the three agents we invited to visit the property, we were impressed by the speed with which Chris grasped our situation and needs and carefully explained and illustrated her proposed strategy. Her valuation seemed entirely realistic and she had prepared extremely well for our meeting, illust
Maxwell Hodgson Estate Agents are a highly professional and caring team of people. The smaller size of the agency in comparison to other companies enables them to bring a personal and tailored approach. It clearly does not reflect the size of their market share - we found that they seemed to be marketing most of the most attractive and historic houses that we shortlisted in our search for a new home. We had an extremely difficult purchase which (through no fault of the agency) has taken an unus
I had the misfortune of picking Oulsnams to fully manage my property. They told me if they fully managed it they would deal with everything and I wouldn't have the stress of managing a property. The only thing they managed to do was take their fee! They are supposed to swap all the bills for me but failed to do them all and I was left to pay a late payment fee to Birmingham council, when I contacted them they made up a feeble excuse and washed there hands of it. They were supposed to do quarter
Myself and my friend had been looking for a suitable apartment/flat to rent within Horley due to both working at Gatwick Airport. After viewing several properties with other letting agencies, we still had not found a property which best suited our needs, after seeing a potential property online via Rightmove, myself and my friend contacted Choices letting agency (Horley branch) to arrange a viewing. When we visited the property we were greeted by Choices letting negotiator Rebecca Foster - altho
