Bridgfords, 114 linthorpe Road, Middlesbrough
Would you use this agent again? No

* July 28th contacted bridgfords to confirm dates and notice-giving procedure, was told that end of tenancy was just less than 2 months away (26th Sept) and notice should be given by email before the 26th of August
* Sent email 22nd August to give notice (to Mary Biggins, agent and contact point until now)
* Called on 26th August to confirm receipt and was told that my tenancy is 12 month renewable and that I wouldn't be able to leave until March 2015 (another 6 months) and that this was fin

Hobdays Estate Agents, 63 Darkes Lane, Potters Bar
Would you use this agent again? No

Already fragile relationship with estate agents ruined when we were due to exchange on during the week that our representative was on holiday ¢â‚¬â€œ she did not tell us that she was going that week and she did not brief any of her colleagues telling them anything about our case at all.

Andrew (a director at Hobdays Potters Bar who was dealing in her absence) is defensive and unprofessional and wouldn't know an apology if he was bitten by one.

First of all he asked my husband to

Emoov, 121 Sloane Street, London
Would you use this agent again? No

I advertised my property with eMoov and I have to say the service has been appalling. They have a few good members of staff but the majority were very poor. Communication was terrible, we had one person knock the door and ask if we were still selling the property as they wanted to look around but hadn't heard back from the agent (we didn't even know about this person) and this was only a few weeks after going with eMoov. In the end we asked some friends to contact emoov about our property and

Umega, 10 Lister Square, Edinburgh
Would you use this agent again? No

I tried to arrange a viewing with Umega Lettings. Here is a list of what is wrong with the way they handled my request:
- No follow up from my first attempt (I had to call back 6 hours later)
- Viewings during working hours (I have a full time job, and to remind them of the fact that I need a job to pay my rent)
- 2nd viewing booked in the middle of the afternoon at 2.30pm on the SAME DAY as my follow-up, effectively giving me a 4 hours notice (my clients would have be happy to have my meetin

Alan Cooke Sales & Lettings, 15a Stonegate Road, Leeds
Would you use this agent again? No

From the moment we signed up for the flat with Alan Cooke we incurred problems. Before signing the contract they had promised us that the flat would receive a professional clean - it did not. We emailed about this and after a torrent of emails they finally sent someone round with a few wet wipes which we later found in the bin.
We then noticed that the standing order had been set up incorrectly, for the full amount from all the tenants' accounts. When alerted to the fact, there was no apology

Salter Rex, Crown House, 265\/267 Kentish Town Road, London
Would you use this agent again? No

I am sorry to give Salter Rex a bad review, because I like both people I dealt with there: Chris, the estate agent, and Zack, the property manager. But apart from the personal impression I am less sure about the professionalism they are able to deliver. It all started well with Chris finding us a well located, charming flat in Kentish Town, and making it easy for us to sort out the paperwork and take measurements. I did not particularly like his eagerness for us to write a review about it, weeks

Nicholas Humphreys, 183 High Street Ashby Road, Burton Upon Trent
Would you use this agent again? Yes

I was the owner of a home that just wouldn't sell. I had been on the market for nearly 2 years without luck. I had my property valued by three local agents. Agent 1 was a large company with branches around the country but, Agent 2 was a well known independent agent in burton who seem have higher priced properties and the third was a so called (by Himself) local chap independent best in the area agent. I didn't call Nicholas Humphrey's at that Tim 2 years ago as they seemed to have more lettings

Roy Brooks Ltd, 2 Barry Parade, Barry Road, London
Would you use this agent again? Yes

Roy Brooks have managed our property since January 2014, when we moved to Singapore. Being 14 hours and 8 time zones away means that we needed an agent we could trust, especially since the house is our home to which we expect to return at some point.

The 'local' knowledge was important to us. Many of the other agents outsource you to centralised management centre which leaves them out of touch with the ebbs and flows of the local market and without connection to the local tradepeople, whi

Review by Rich on 11th September 2014
Emoov, 121 Sloane Street, London
Would you use this agent again? Yes

I had quotes from the two local high street agents for the sale of my property which were between £1600 and £1900 including vat. Being someone who is highly skeptical of estate agents generally, I didn't view these types of fees as good value and used eMoov on the recommendation of a family member who'd used them before. I paid for the £395 + vat option and added a 'for sale' board to my package.
The photographs of my property were taken by a local surveyor and were, in my opinion, much

Martin & Co, 8 Bridge Street, Northampton
Would you use this agent again? No

martin and co seem to have a tendency to charge ridiculous fees to do virtually nothing. I was left in a mouldy, insecure house house with no heating or hot water for a year with a baby. The house then got broken into (admittedly not martins fault) however, they refused to repair the door that had been kicked in saying they didn't believe me that i had been burgled even though i provided them with a police crime reference number, thus leaving the house insecure. They also outright denied that th
