I have had the misfortune of asking Shaw & Co to let my flat out in Hayes. The first day when they arrived to view the property and do some paperwork, The sales Manager seemed ok. He did promise the world though. "We will have this property let in one week. If we don't we are not doing our job properly." IT seems that they are not doing their jobs properly. Absolutely disgraceful treatment by the owner Phillip Shaw. Disrespectful, rude and unprofessional behaviour by him towards us as tenants and in general not a happy person....

The estate agent/landlord (brothers - lack of impartiality) has not held true to the Tenancy Deposit Scheme that he is registered with and uses as a marketing tool (displayed in his window) to lure trusting tenants. As tenants we were threatened (in writing) that if we lodged a dispute with the TDS it would be bypassed and we would be taken to court anyway. What agent could do to change your mind?
He could have not showed up at 9 am at my home banging on the door and trying to let himself in with his own set of keys when I refused access to show the property to prospective tenants in writing as I had friends and family staying over. He could have negotiated the disputed part of our deposit using the the Tenancy Deposit Scheme our tenancy deposit was supposed to be secured by. He could have returned to us the undisputed amount of the deposit. He could have negotiated a settlement with us out of court, as the courts suggested.

Left for sale sign on property for 3 months after it was taken off the market. Wanted to leave property on the market and show people round to "gauge interest" despite landlord changing mind about selling, disregarding us as paying tenants with a young child. Advertised property as 2 bedroom when according to guidelines, a bedroom must have a window....

I had my property valued by Philip Shaw (manager) who after 5 minutes of looking around my property that it was worth £300,000 to £320,000 at a push. I since had it valued by Keatons and FJLord who valued the property at £400,000, and were very professional. When I rang Philip Shaw for an explanation, he was very blasƒÂ© and offered no excuse or apology. Amazed this guy is still in business. Always get at least three valuations. Damon Hunter....
