Useless, beyond difficult. Unable to keep to confirmed appointments. Took the holding fee then did nothing to get references for 2 weeks. Almost failed referencing as my previous landlord was out of the country. They had no contingency. Was resolved, 2 days before move in. By me. Not by the referencing agency. Failed to clean. Failed to fix broken objects. Handyman let himself in unannounced a few days after we moved in. Property manager appears to only be available 1 day a week. And is useless....

Awful. After receiving quite without tax, paid and then was chased for payment. Also paid for referencing, then did it all myself.

I am a Landlord with two properties, until May of 2016 they were manged by Leaders who were merged with Romans who took over the management. They are dire. One potentially useful feature is online statements and other details, this is good except that when I want to change my own personal details I can't as my postcode is wrong - I live abroad. They have not fixed this software. I find now that they appear not to have communicated the office change of address at takeover in any event ground re...

Honestly I dont know how they still manage to operate. If everyone weve had to deal with as a property manager put their heads together and tried to arrange a piss up in a brewery they wouldn't be able to do it. After about 6 changes I dont actually know who our property manager is anymore. They arrange visits but never turn up, on 3 occasions they have not known where the management key is for our property. It just seems like a massive shambles. We had to negotiate the initial admin fees with t...

What a joke! I'm guessing that the majority of these (good) reviews are fake. As a renter, I have never dealt with a more difficult agency. On several occasions they have directly contravened terms of my lease (attempting to put the rent up by an extortionate amount/organising non-emergency visits without the requisite 24 hours notice/not fixing things such as a broken boiler in February/sending in workmen to 'fix' things who actually make the problem worse/etc) I could write an essay on the ...

Romans in Windsor completely omitted to tell us about all the costs until after we paid our reservation fee. The manager Sam Morton actually told us that we had to take their contents insurance because we have a dog. This is a complete lie and is another extortionate cost on which they gain commission! This was on top of other cleaning costs we had to suddenly take on. They also try to flog you utilities and broadband that they gain commission on. Their fees are probably the highest in Wind...

I strongly believe they are unprofessional. I'd say to keep away, do not rely on them. At the very beginning, they broke my trust. We shortlisted a property advertised by them on 10th August, i called them the same evening but unfortunately they were closed. The next day early morning i called them and spoke to them about the property, i clearly told them i like the property and would like to view it as soon as possible. Stating the fact that currently tenants are there they agreed for a viewing...

Every customer would expect polite professional behaviour. When dealing with the Bracknell Romans Sales Team one receives rude, condescending and dismissive behaviour. Contradicting content/feedback on queries depending with whom you are speaking with. There is a clear drop of customer focus once a 'deal' is completed, forget about post offer/acceptance, exchange up to completion support. Makes one think as soon as they secure their 'fee', they do not care at all about the customer (buyer) i...

Would give 0 rating if an option. Utterly uncaring and incompetent. Gushingly helpful until you sign up and then spent time since not even doing their basic job with me constantly having to chase them up. Tried to squeeze money out of me and my tenant at every opportunity including trying to get us both to pay an annual tenancy renewal fee ( tell letting someone agents you want a rolling contract and this will avoid those charges - something they won't volunteer to tell you!). Also kept money ba...

I had rented a flat through Romans Reading. At the end of tenancy, there were some stains on the carpet. I got them professionally cleaned and the stains lightened. They said they were not happy with the cleaning and got them cleaned again. But still the stains didn't disappear. They said the carpet needs to be replaced and asking me to pay 688รƒยฏร‚ยฟร‚ยฝ. In total they are asking me to pay 96 for cleaning the carpet and 600รƒยฏร‚ยฟร‚ยฝ for replacing the same carpet which was cleaned twice. Rid...

Would definitely NOT recommend under any circumstances Romans. On top of total lack of genuine care for tenants, they are incompetent, unresponsive and show no will at all to actually try and do what you would expect from a proper letting agency. They have simply never gave any support when needed (no proper heating for around 4 months, no proper external lighting just to name a few) and did not care to sort out problems they have been creating as well as not respecting basic law when related to...

Shockingly bad. Unhelpful, obstructive and expensive. Write their fees into the tenancy agreement despite not being a party to it. Bully the landlord into accepting their policies despite having no foundation at law. Tried to make me pay a year (yes, a year) rent upfront because the credit agency said my cash in bank, rental income (much higher than the rent on this place) and salary are all irrelevant, till the landlord overruled them. Everything they do is driven by their fees, or setting up f...

I unfortunately rented with this agent. Avoid them as much as you can. They are totally incompetent and will never help to fix any problem you may have. I dealt with Matthew Pulford at the beginning; he was rude and and showed he just did not care at all. He was a total disgrace, never replied emails and forced me to contact the landlord directly. Guess what? once I contacted the landlord and complained about him he was all calling and asking but even then he was rather a waste of space. I de...

Really are the worst letting agency I have ever had to deal with. Money grabbing * who try to get every penny of your deposit for slight problems that are natural wear and tear or landlord responsibility. Each interaction with them over the year I was renting was a nightmare. Each member of staff was incompetent at managing the smallest problem fully correctly. Will NEVER use this company again, and will be doing my best to stop others....

Romans have been a pain since day one I started renting through them along with my partner. They have been very unhelpful with any queries we've had, especially when the front door of the property wasn't opening and closing properly and had to be fixed. We called them to address the issue and they said they will call back but they never did. Now that we're moving out they started holding viewings but no one bothers to tell us if a viewing gets cancelled! Then they asked us to pay a fee for a ref....

Avoid this agent at all costs they are aggressive and rude. Demanding deposits with threatening e mails but never answering questions you have over the property. Inappropriately addressing you in written communications. When you raise a complaint they defend themselves rather than deal with the complaint, but then that's what you get with a firm run by teenagers. Best advice find another agent run by grown ups and don't use Romans ever, maybe when they have no new business they might actuall...

You won't get your full deposit back. Avoid these letting agents. You will be force to pay an 'independent' inventory clerk who will make the case for you to pay as much as possible. I never had issues with any letting agency before and I never ever had a deposit reduced I'm the past after several years of renting with different companies. Romans have been by far the most expensive in administration charges and the worst in deposit deductions and it was only 6-month tenancy with Romans...

I don't know what the Romans experience is like as a tenant but from a landlord's point of view, it is dismal, especially given the high fees they charge. If you live in the area, I would recommend managing it yourself; everything will be done quicker, and you will spend less time on the phone. My principle complaints are that they are terrible at communicating with the landlord, or even each other, and that they do not provide adequate instruction or supervision for their subcontractors. ...

TERRIBLE from start to finish. The staff are rude and always unhelpful and as soon as I informed them we were moving out of the property the service turned even worse. I was passed between a range of consultants during my tenancy and never had a clue who my property manager was supposed to be. Its difficult as Romans seem to dominate the property market at the moment and its a shame. It took weeks to get anything fixed in the house, I was left with a broken shower twice for over a month, and tha...

Except for the first call, there was nothing good about this estate agent who even has no idea what documents we need at all. Because of his confused mind, it took 2 weeks to be sending assorted different things forth and back, all to start the referencing only. As time went by, although we had been dragged due to his very personal dimwit and unprofessional knowledge, he remained slack at work with his * attitude and ignored us. I started the process of placing my property on the market and arranged viewings with a few agents, one of which was Romans. Romans are apparently the height of incompetency, with the added bonus of being expensive alongside it. Throughout the process of becoming a tenant I was not informed of the inventory meeting I was supposed to attend until the day before, when I was out of the country. John has been most helpful throughout our time renting through Romans. From organising viewings, talking through issues with the property, and then arranging to vacate the property, Jon has been a professional at all times. One thing that really stands out is the speed in which Jon gets things done. I would ask a question and within an hour he would have found me an answer. The problems started with Romans when I needed to evict my tenant. First they issued the wrong section 21. This only came to light when I tried to start court proceedings and was notified by Landlords Advice UK. I therefore got LA UK to issue the correct section 21 and a section 8 - this put me back 3 months. We asked for compensation for the 3 months along with the cost of a new section 21, which we received. It was a good job that LA UK issued the section 8 as well or else we wouldn't hav...
