I recently left a Roman City student property, and complied with all requests and stuck exactly to the contract! We reported all problems immediately, kept the property spotless and on leave out were told by staff it was one of the cleanest properties and the inventory check was perfect. Singlehandedly the worst customer satisfaction I have ever witnessed. I have had nothing but problems with them and receive nothing but spite, rudeness and aggression in return. They take payment after payment, already ridiculously high, charge excessive amounts on top and make the entire experience of student housing an absolute nightmare....

Undoubtably the worst letting agent I have ever encountered. All the staff are rude, inept and treat students like something on the bottom of their shoe. They are useless with any problem regarding the property, and told us we were wrong when we contacted them about our boiler which was broken (an engineer came after months of back and forth, and told us the boiler was indeed broken). Have rented from them for two years and I have had nothing but problems. Things constantly breaking in the house and a mould problem. If it wasn't for our lovely landlady we would be living in a house covered in mould. Complete disregard for students and a complete lack of understanding when it comes to payments. If I could give zero or even negative stars I would. House was awful when we first moved in, broken chairs, broken bed, hundreds of dead and alive woodlice from an infestation that would later cause us even more problems, damp, doors and windows that wouldn't shut properly. Extremely rude and unreliable letting agency. Their customer service is absolutely appalling. It took them months to return our deposit to us, and when we did receive it, they had taken a lot of money off it, despite us cleaning the house head to toe and leaving it in a better condition than it was when we had first moved in! Very attentive when you are a prospective customer - as soon as you have signed the contract they are extremely difficult to get hold of, do not respond to emails and are generally not helpful. Will not be letting through them again, and would advise anyone I know to avoid them....

I have had an awful experience with Roman City. The staff are all exceptionally rude and make you feel as though you are just a stupid student. They charge you a lot of agency fee's and also expect you to pay a lot of money before you can even move into the property on top of paying the deposit. If you are a student you are better off looking else where because these people are happy to take your money but are not happy to help you! their Customer service skills are non existent....

Roman City are a student letting agency who are regularly let down by students who fail to complete requests in a timely manner. I have found them agreeable to deal with. My experience with Roman City was absolutely awful and they were rude. When we informed them about issues regarding the property that were through no fault of our own they were very slow with their response, sometimes taking up to two weeks to reply. When they responded and came to the property their attempts at fixing our problems were atrocious and would result in them having to come back several times in order to complete the jobs to an acceptable standard. They are rude, arrogant, unhelpful and hold on to your deposit for as long as they can. You pay the initial deposit at the start of the tenancy but cannot move into the property until they are ready to let you move in. Inventories are a joke. Do nothing at all to get maintenance issues fixed and then try and charge you at the end of the tenancy. I was given a house to live in for my first year of university by the uni themselves who used Roman City as the agency. The house we were given was lovely, but when first viewing the house, the lady from Roman City who showed us around was incredibly rude - first bad impression. Admittedly some of the employees were polite and patient to deal with but most were extremely rude and impatient. This company is not at all flexible or helpful, instead they try and charge/fine people as much as they think they can get away with. The company deals with too many students and does not consider individual circumstances, and they are not even open on a saturday.
