We listed our home with William H Brown when Strike was taken over by Purple Bricks. After the initial valuation we didn't have any viewing from them, instead all our viewings came from Purple Bricks. When our first sale with Purple Bricks fell through, we advised that we were moving to a different estate agent in Huddersfield. William H Brown requested that we let them have a crack at selling as the only agent, which we agreed to. Over the next 6-8 weeks there were barely any viewings, and I had to call them to chase for updates. Every time I called, they advised us to drop the price. By the time they actually got an offer for us (thanks to multiple price reductions) it was £40k under what they had valued the house at (and what we had bought the property for 1 year prior). They knew we were desperate to sell, and I feel they took advantage of this to get us to accept a very low offer. They often repeated

Very poor experience with the Huddersfield branch. I am having to do a ridiculous amount of the work they are supposed to do, I might as well have gone with purple bricks as the standard is so low that I am having to do everything myself, including the viewings as the estage agents do not show up.... Appauling, they sell you the rented houses and then when you need repairs they cannot complete them, you have to nag, you have to threaten, poor landlords who pay them to sort out these problems we would do better just asking him ourselves cut them out completely and save him... Read Full Review
