As a prospective customer in the sale of my house I invited Foxtons around for a valuation on my property. Matthew Thompson, the sales manager who visited my home was professional and answered all questions to my satisfaction (I only wish my story ended there). Upon further contact by Mr. Thompson via email I thanked him for his time and let him know I would be proceeding with another company. He responded with somewhat of a negative email but I left it at that.
The next day I was contacted by the agent whom I had initially spoken with on the phone who informed me that she likes to keep calling and checking on the process to see how it is getting along elsewhere. At this time I politely asked her to remove my information from their database (as is my right by law) as moving forward with the sale of my house I would not have the time to continually be contacted by, and providing updates to, Foxtons. The agent remained polite and professional and assured me that my information would be removed and I not be contacted again.
The very next day (which by now Foxtons have violated not only my right but also my request) this is the email I received from Matthew Thompson...you can be the judge of whether this is a company you would want to work with. I am only so glad that I did not select Foxtons as if this gives any insight into the type of service I would have received and the way I would have been treated then I know I was 100% correct in my decision. I mean I think this type of attention would be better served on the customers who have hired your services than wasting time on those who have not. That alone says a lot to me.
The email I received reads as follows:
I do not appreciate you calling up my colleague and being quite frankly rude and obnoxious. You spent over 30mins on the phone initially with my colleague and then over an hour with me. The least you could have done is thank us for our FREE advice.
You will absolutely not sell the property for 985 with . I wouldn't be surprised if they don't even do a single viewing. Let's see how long it is before they call you and tell you to drop the price.
You have been hoodwinked by a poor agent.

You be the judge! And consequently there were also two other firms I informed I would not be working with and their polite response was the equivalent of night and day to the reaction of this gentleman's at Foxtons.
