secured a viewing in Newton-le-Willows and was told I was the first of three appointments to view the property. I booked my train Tickets from London and travelled up at a cost of over £100 and arrived at the property whereby I had been told Hanna with a red car would show me around. Two other subsequent appointments turned up and after "Hanna" failed to turn up, the other customer phone the office whereby she was told a voice message was left on her phone informing that they could not get hold of the tenant to show us around. Little did the office know that the three appointments were standing next to each other and no such voice messages were left. The tenant appeared to be home too as his vacant business van was parked on his driveway with the window wound down. With no representative coming. We just had to go home. I LIVE 260 MILES AWAY! No! I'm heading to their offices to give them what for... I turned up at 15:30 and it was locked. Sign says offices shut at 16:00 on Saturday. After hanging around, I spot someone inside who opens the door and I vent my frustration - only it's the sales girl in the sales department who has nothing to do with lettings. I sigh and leave for what would turn out a 5 hour trip back to London.
Why did no agent come out to the property at the agreed time even though "she couldn't get hold" of the tenants by phone. Appointments had been arranged and tenants should have known before hand. This smells of laziness whereby Hanna has messed up and her cure for the situation is to ignore it until the problem disappears.
What agent could do to change your mind?
The branch manager really needs an internal investigation into the practice of its agents.
