If you are thinking of renting a property, managed or not from Andrew Louis, I would advice that you think twice and take into account all the reviews that you read. I didn't. I rented a property from Andrew Louis which is also managed by them. and have experienced several difficulties when dealing with staff across different departments. Dont't get me wrong, Andrew Louis are not all bad, there are some positives from renting from them, for example, they don't as some landlords do, request regular checks on the property and they do leave you in peace.
As for the difficulties, of which I have encountered on several occasions: firstly, the inventory issued to me prior to moving in that was incorrect, it listed furniture and other items that were not in the property, and listed slight marks on walls where there were heavy marks and dents amongst others. This concerned me as I was worried these things would be taken into account when I moved out. I sent several emails to the member of staff dealing with this particular area, as everytime I telephoned it went to voicemail and my requests for a call back were never actioned. I even left messages with other member of staff as well as the voicemail. The email responses were short, blunt and unhelpful. Then when I requested a new, correct inventory to be drawn up, I recieved no further response at all via email or telephone whatsoever.
Further to this, it was a very similar situation when it came to maintaince and repairs. More often than not, it took far too long to recieve response from Andrew Louis and far too long for the repairs to be actioned. Having said this, on occasion, if the repairs needed where an immediate hazard the repairs did take place promtly. Do not let this reflect badly on the engineers themselves as more often than not, they were promt as to when they arranged to visit and were polite did the work quickly and professionally.
Overall my opinion of Andrew Louis is negative due to all the unnecassary time and trouble it has taken me to contact them for anything.
