I have contacted First Union lettings regarding a property that I've already viewed 6 months ago and became available again, saying that I wanted to make a deposit to secure the flat as I was fully aware of the flat condition, location, etc. The lettings manager said that she wasn't happy with me putting a deposit without viewing the property again, so I agreed to view the property, again. I suggested to view the flat early in the morning to make sure that I could secure the flat straight after viewing it for the second time, but she said the the earliest time she could show me the flat was at 11.00 am because she had a meeting before. While I was on my way to view the flat (only half an hour before the viewing) I received a phone call form the letting agency saying that the flat was gone as someone else viewed it earlier in the morning and put a deposit to secure the flat.
I have found First Union very unprofessional, since the day before I have made it very clear that I wanted to make a deposit immediately (as I have seen the flat before) in order to secure the flat, and that I wanted the earliest viewing available on 27th February 2014. I think a professional attitude would have been to inform me that it was possible to view the flat earlier than 11.00 am, so that I would have had the chance to view the flat first, as I requested.
What agent could do to change your mind?
I think they should have informed me about the possibility of viewing the flat earlier (as I was informed that 11.00 am was the earliest possibility to view the flat on that date). And given that I received incorrect information about viewing times on 27/2/2014 and I explicitly said that when I called the agency for the fist time that I wanted to put a deposit to secure the flat, I think First Union should have given priority to my request.
