Never in my life have I dealt with such incompetent idiots since being managed by Thornley Groves. The sales staff clearly have no qualifications whatsoever, hate their job and hate any tenant that calls with a problem.
Since moving in to our nice modern ground floor flat, it seemed perfect. Since then we have had problem after problem. There are blobs of paint all over the walls where they have obviously tried to cover up imperfections - but just made it 10x worse! It needed a FULL clean as it was so dirty and dusty. However we left that as we aren't really a complaining couple and will let most things slide.
Soon after moving in, the toilet started to leak out of the bottom every time it flushed, the washing machine flooded (and still floods 6 months later) our kitchen every time we put a wash on, the bathroom floods every single time we have a bath (which is every day as we prefer baths than showers) there is so much water coming from our bath that 2 giant bath towels are dripping wet and still haven't stopped the water. Also I must add that we have called, lets say A THOUSAND times since moving in... (August 2013, and today is 24/01/2014) and STILL nobody has bothered to come and sort it or the washing machine.
It gets worse... I come home from work one day and there is water literally pouring through our ceiling.... turns out Thornley Groves knew this happened every year due to excessive rain filling up in a ledge in a roof, (this happened to the girl living in the flat the year before, which the upstairs tenants informed us of) but didn't bother to fix it first so it wouldn't happen to anyone else! They just let it pour onto my coffee table with my Apple laptop about a metre away. They STILL haven't come to sort that out, and that was over 2 weeks ago. Every time we call they say sorry (with absolutely no empathy whatsoever) and say someone will call us back. Do they? Do they hell.
However they are quick to write us letters when they are telling us off about the parking arrangements and how many cars are allocated per flat.
If you are selling/renting/buying a property... Do NOT use Thornley Groves, you will deeply regret it. Its laughable that the amount of 'terrible' reviews on here and Thornley Groves continue to employ idiots and still don't care about their customers.

The only issue that we had was that the property was put back on the market (albeit temporarily and unlikely to result in any interest) while our exchange was delayed despite us having paid the relevant fees to secure the property. Whilst I appreciate that this was done to appease the landlady and Jess reassured us that no interest would arise, we felt that this could be construed as being slightly unfair as we paid the fee in good faith, were told that it would secure the property and were only potentially delaying signing of the lease by one working day.
