Seriously awful estate agents - the worst ones I have ever dealt with. Do not, do not use them.
Not only are they quick to shirk off any responsibility - they are also extremely rude and incredibly defensive. Instead of being apologetic for their short-comings/misunderstandings near the end of my tenancy, they proceeded to act in a very defensive manner, verbosely making threats and personal digs towards me. I was basically called a bully, when actually all I had done is speak assertively (several colleagues of mine were opposite me while I was on the phone and testified to that, because I was concerned that I had been rude! Phew). To be honest with you, it was like talking to a petulant teenager. When I tried to explain that I wasn't being aggressive, I was just trying to sort something out, I was met with a sneer of 'well we deal with people every day and this doesn't happen'. Well evidently - that was a lie from seeing these reviews. I would say that they're all well and good, so long as they get your money and your signature. As soon as they have that then they are as rude to you as they like.
I didn't argue back because there is more to life. I'm a big believer in reputation, and as far as I'm concerned, if they really want to upset people enough in this already saturated market, then me arguing back isn't going to do anything. Their shortcomings speak for themselves.
I will not use them ever again, that's for sure and I'm glad to be rid of them. I'm also going to make sure that any friend, colleague, or loved one in Brighton&Hove I have will not use them either (yes, that's how strongly I feel about the 'service' I received).
What agent could do to change your mind?
It's hard to say what they could have done, because the nature of our interaction was so awful.
I think they should all go to customer service lessons and realise that actually, to be a lettings agent, you should be friendly and accommodating. You are offering a service. They should probably go to counselling as well - the anger was so strong it was like it was pulsating off the phone!

I stayed in 55 Ventnor Villas but thankfully have now moved put and are now with Property Moves. Although PM aren't perfect, at least you don't get abuse from them. I suffer from anxiety - and after a conversation with your employee I had a panic attack. As I can see from the other reviews there your claim of "we have no complaints" is not true,is it?
