Matthew Swing and Partners on Whitton High Street should be put out of business. If you sign a tenancy agreement with this company beware! You will be overcharged for everything and screwed around with charges which are not listed in your tenancy agreemeent. I would highly recommend that you avoid this agency. If someone moves out during the tenancy, you will be charged even though the charges should fall onto the shoulders of the person moving into the house in your place. If your entire household moves out, you will be charged for additional services which they force upon you without evidential invoices. They miss out points on inventory reports and charge you unwillingly. All in all there is not enough space here for me to vent how much I despise this estate agency. Please do me a favour and share this review with everyone you know in contact with them so that we can put them out of business once and for all.

Matthew Swing and Partners would like to thank you for your comments but would like to clarify some points raised in your review:

You state you were overcharged and had to pay extra charges when one sharer moved out DURING THE TENANCY. I would like to point out that it is extremely rare for a tenant to vacate a property mid way through a Tenancy and it would be the decision of the Landlord of the Property as to whether or not the Tenant is allowed to leave early and be replaced with another Tenant. I would like to point out that the Landlord does not have to agree to this and could make you honour the Terms of the Tenancy Agreement however, should the Landlord decide to allow a change of Tenant there may be extra charges applied to allow you to break the Tenancy Agreement. Matthew Swing and Partners would take our Landlord's instructions on how to proceed in such a situation.

With regards to your comment regarding when all Tenants vacate the property, Matthew Swing and Partners use the services of an Independent Inventory company and so are not responsible for any discrepancies within the Inventory and this issue would need to be taken up with the Inventory company used directly. When dealing with a deposit return, quotes and invoices are obtained for deductions and should you not have been happy with the proposed deductions that the Landlord had requested from the deposit, you should have disputed this rather than agreeing in writing to the proposed deductions (which I believe was the case with your Tenancy). Should you have disputed this, your deposit was registered with a deposit company and you would have had the opportunity to use the arbitration services offered to you with regards to deposit disputes.

As a final word of advice for the future we would recommend that you select the people you would like to live with more carefully so as to avoid it being necessary to vacate the property mid Tenancy when there are sharer disagreements, as this often creates extra administration charges from agents on behalf of the Landlords.
