Our standard procedure, which is similar to many reputable agents, is to take a holding fee from the prospective tenant making the offer. This is to ensure that the offer is serious, as we will upon receipt of the offer pause marketing of the property until the offer has been accepted or declined by our client Landlord. This protects both parties and is deemed to be the fairest procedure. However we are always open to suggestions on how we could improve this process.
If a holding fee is taken and the offer is declined by the Landlord, we always endeavour to return the funds as quickly as possible. It is worth mentioning that debit card payments must clear into our account before it can be refunded to the cardholder, which is usually done by BACs payments directly into their account.

If you feel you were treated unfairly or unprofessionally, please do contact me to discuss it.

Thank you.
