We found a great property through Roy Brooks, so we are very happy to be all moved in now, however it wasn't the easiest journey to get to this stage.... We orignially saw the property and liked it, so we had a second viewing arranged, but unfortunately the agent had booked it on his day off, so did not show up. Luckily another colleague was on hand to step in and managed to get down to the property 20minutes after our planned meeting time, so we weren't too late for work that morning.
Once we decided it was the right property, and had put the deposit down everything seemed to go quiet, and we were not contacted with a contract for over 3 weeks, despite moving day looming, and chasing on our part. Due to the Christmas period we needed to sign by the 23rd December, and the contract only came through at 2pm that day, which left us with 2 hours to read it over, run down to the agents office adn sign it.
Again, due to the Christmas period, we had to arrange to pick up the keys in a local pub as the agency was closed on the contract start day. And when we went to pick them up unfortaunately the pub had no idea where the keys were. This was frustrating, with a van full of furniture, after a 60mile drive, and although they managed to find the keys an hour later, Roy Brooks were quick to blame the cleaner (who dropped the keys to the pub) and the pub staff, instead of accepting this was perhaps not the most professional way to give tenants their keys.
Overall the process was a little stressful. We appreciate the timings and dates probably didn't help matters, but we feel a little more time and consideration on Roy Brooks part would have made for a more pleasant experience.
