TENANTS FROM ABROAD PAY ATTENTION!!

These guys demand an outrageous amount of 6 months in advance (plus deposit and fees) for letting a property to anyone moves into the UK for the first time, even if the tenant has already got a job with steady payroll!

If coming from abroad, you had better keep away!!

I have to agree with Dr Panos Kloukinas. Response provided by the agency is misleading, as option to pay 6 months in advance has been given to us by the agency representative within a matter of hours after a viewing. Hence no credit check took a place. This situation does make you feel undermined and disrespectful as your suitability and financial stability decided by agent's personal judgment.
Unfortunately we would not recommend services.

Copying from your text '' Unfortunately you were unable to provide such references...'' I am afraid that this statement is misleading and generally far from truth. Your agent said that employer’s reference is not enough and never asked for a guarantor. The only option she gave me was that of paying 6 months in advance, which was apparently not suitable for me at all, and it is also not suitable for everyone I know. That is why I put this comment, in order to let other people know and I still advise them to find other agency, which will be more willing to give alternatives.

We are disappointed to read this review as The Bristol Residential Letting Co welcomes tenants from overseas and we rent a large number of properties to applicants who have just arrived in this country. As with any application, before a landlord is willing to commit to a tenancy, the applicant must be able to provide suitable references. This is most easily achieved by the applicant providing a previous landlord reference, an employer’s reference and passing a credit check. Should an applicant not be able to provide one of these then they would have the option of providing a suitable guarantor or in some circumstances the landlord would allow applicants to pay 6 months in advance. Unfortunately you were unable to provide such references or a guarantor, however the landlord would have been very happy to accept you if you were willing to pay 6 months in advance. We are sorry you felt this was not suitable for you. Should your situation change we would welcome the opportunity to look for another property for you.

Dr White, your property was not in fact rented by our company, it was rented by Medics on the Move, a company which we bought on the retirement of its owner in November 2015. Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.

Complaints Procedure

Clifton Office Complaints Procedure

The Bristol Residential Letting Co is committed to providing an excellent service to our customers however we accept that unfortunately sometimes we do not always get it right. Should a situation arise where you are not satisfied we would welcome the opportunity to address this and would ask you to follow the complaints procedure below.

1. Make the problem known to a member of our team as soon as possible and allow them the opportunity to resolve it.

2. Should this not bring a resolution please write to Deborah Hadley, Director, The Bristol Residential Letting Co, 19 Clifton Down Shopping Centre, Whiteladies Rd, Bristol BS8 2NN The grievance will be acknowledged within 3 working days and then investigated in accordance with in-house procedures. A formal written outcome of the complaint will be sent to you within 21 days. Should we require a longer period whilst we gather the facts, we will advise you in writing and confirm our revised response date.

3. Should you remain dissatisfied please contact Ed Osborn, Director, The Bristol Residential Letting Co, 19 Clifton Down Shopping Centre, Whiteladies Road, Bristol BS8 2NN or e-mail ed@bristolreslet.com who will ensure the grievance is investigated by a Director not directly involved with the grievance.

4. For your further reassurance TBRLC is pleased to be a member of the The Property Ombudsman and they can be contacted by writing to The Property Ombudsman, Beckett House, 4 Bridge Street, Salisbury SP1 21LX. Copies of a 'Consumer Guide' and 'Code of Practice' are available free of charge from our office or from The Property Ombudsman website - www.tpos.co.uk
