I was a prospective tenant about a month ago. I saw a property at the New Hampton Lofts and was shown around by Tristan I think his name was. To be honest he looked scared to be showing me round, all he did was stay on his ipad in the corner and when i asked him a question e.g. 'So does parking come with the flat?' he would reply' urmmm Im not sure with this one actually'.....brilliant. He really had no idea, very unprofessional. Despite this I loved the place, I really wanted it! I phoned up with my offer below the asking price as recommended by Tristan and asked to be kept in the loop about any reply from the landlord or other offers. I had no reply from my following calls and emails only to find up by calling a week later that it had been let. I understand that its easy for these agents to let flats as there is such high demand. This however does not excuse their sheer un-professionalism and shabby approach.
What agent could do to change your mind?
If they had good communication skills, different representatives (looking at you Tristan) and took a bit of pride in their work, I MIGHT think about using them again. lol jokes
