All was fine, we made a great offer, and the estate agent called us back telling us that the vendor was willing to accept our offer. It came across that it was very likely that we would get it. They only needed us and a couple of the other ones with a good offer to come by their office to get financially approved. I said I had the paperwork of approval from my bank and that I'd give them the details to our contact there as well if they had any questions. The estate agent wouldn't listen at all, and said we had to come to the office for the approval with all the documents we had to already gone through with our bank.
It turns out they have their own in house mortgage brokers, and they make money if they get you to take their deal instead. I then told them that we were not interested in any other deal and that we also have the insurance and solicitor sorted out. Lloyds bank helped us as well, calling them to confirm that all our finances were in order.
The agent then called me, very disappointed and still twisted any answer and avoiding to acknowledge that we were financially approved. He said he would present our offer to the vendor, but he could not guarantee us to the vendor.
This is the slimiest most obnoxious treatment I have ever had with a estate agency. And of course we didn't get it. I will never deal with these people again.

What agent could do to change your mind?
He could have stopped pushing us to meet their mortgage brokers and accepted that we had made our mind up to use our bank. He should not have tried to make our meeting with their brokers out to be anything else then a business move. We had absolutely all our papers in order also the bank called them to answer any questions. Don't tell me that is not financial approval enough to present the vendor. Very aggressive and arrogant behavior. He should defiantly work on his people skills and be clear about the intentions he got.Attached Filesnbsp;

What agent could do to change your mind?
He could have stopped pushing us to meet their mortgage brokers and accepted that we had made our mind up to use our bank. He should not have tried to make our meeting with their brokers out to be anything else then a business move. We had absolutely all our papers in order also the bank called them to answer any questions. Don't tell me that is not financial approval enough to present the vendor.
