We have tried to rent a property through horts, everything went fine until 2 days prior the move when they have notified us that the landlord has pulled out of the contract leaving us 2 days to find another property or become homeless.

Dispute #1: We have been informed by them that the landlord doesn't want to be contacted by horts or ourselves any time in the future, which makes us assume horts wasn't telling the complete truth and this whole story had nothing to do with the landlord but horts as the property was advertised on their website again two weeks later. Strange isn't it?! What is also pretty strange that in cases like this you would expect that the agency would at least try to come up with a solution and try to offer you another one of their property. Horts didn't even try. They have been busy transferring back the referencing fees to us making sure there's no contract between them and us in place any more. Clever move.. but we have got everything archived dear horts, c'est la vie.

Dispute #2: During our further correspondence they have stated that both my partner and myself are remembering wrong for the whole story ( they might think we are "xxx" just simply liars ) and the whole issue has been caused by us questioning some of the points on their contract. Questioning/Requesting explanations on certain points of a contract ( 55 obligations for the tenant and 3 for the landlord/agency ) and refusing them are two separate things but horts representatives been incapable of recognizing this, never mind. The unprofessional ism, lack of support and total ignorance we had experienced with horts was way below our expectations even from a low end company like them.

Would NOT recommend this agency to my worst enemy and we have taken the case further to trading standards.

This industry needs some serious regulations to take place, until then, tenants will have no rights at all but to accept everything, shut up and pay the mortgage of the glory landlords. Period.
