Alex is absolutely awful in this company. He lied to me and my partner about the furniture we would receive when we moved in. I was very clear that I had no furniture and when we negotiated a price I paid a premium so that the flat would be completely fully furnished to a high specification. Alex got me to write a list of everything I would need for the apartment, which he then completely ignored after the contract was signed and that list was never seen again. He was smarmy and arrogant and the people working as a concierge in the building said they were having constant complaints about these agents. It turned out that the agents had taken some scabby furniture that was not even their own furniture from the owner of the complex without his permission to furnish my flat. It was furniture that the property owner himself told me he left in a store room because it was too old to give to tenants.
The flat was sold to me as having a sound system installed with no controller to work it for seven of the nine months of the contract, despite me repeatedly asking the agents to do something about this. The landlord told me that the controller was in the flat when the last tenant moved out and got lost somehow between them moving out and me getting the flat. They re-assigned a car parking space associated with my flat without informing me. They ignored my emails and complaints. When I rang to complain one of the owners shouted at me down the phone that I should "come down the office and we'll sort this out like men" and slammed the phone down on me.
I went to a solicitor and refused to pay my last month of rent due to the complete misrepresentation that occurred when we signed the contract, which the landlord agreed to let me have to settle all claims against him. All in all, it was a huge amount of hassle and waste of my time. I can not believe a company can get away with acting as they do to tenants who are paying a huge amount to them in agency fees for a high-end property.
