The grade of \'terrible\' was given for mainly 2 reasons. First, the condition of the house when we took over was worse than terrible, the showers were not working, heating faulty and place extremely dirty. The agency got a \'professional\' cleaner to come in but the house was left dirty still at the end of the day. The cleaner was unprofessional, was not proficient in cleaning, and brought along a guy friend to the home that just stood there looking at her clean. We had only the day scheduled remaining in London and had no choice but to permit such a behavior. The other parts of the property that were supposed to be handed to us in working condition took the next 2 months to be completely fixed. Second, the agent Shafi is extremely rude in his dealings with us tenants. He possesses no sense of service and at no point in time apologize for any of the inconveniences caused to us by the above mentioned bad condition of the house.

However, please note that Oktaj is a very courteous agent. If you like the house you viewed, go through him.

Thank you for your review to which we are grateful to have the opportunity to respond.

Due to the nature and short turnaround between tenancies, it is sometimes possible that the cleaners are unable to visit the flat until the very last moment and very rarely on the start date of a new tenancy, which we try to avoid most of the time. It is likely that this was one of those rare occasions when the professional cleaning of the flat could be done and you have already mentioned that this was the only day that you scheduled to be in London to move into the flat.

We always use bona fide third party professional cleaning companies and never use individual freelance cleaners, if the cleaning company that we instructed, sent someone who did an inadequate cleaning job or behaved in an inappropriate manner, it is imperative that you let us know immediately which property this incident relates to so that we can raise a complaint with the company who have been handsomely paid to do a satisfactory job and possibly refrain from using that particular company again as we do not wish to be held responsible for someone else doing a poor quality job.

It is not unheard of that there are repair issues at a property, but it is totally unacceptable for tenants to wait 2 months for repair works to be completed. We have a very efficient management department, most of the minor non technical jobs are carried out by our in house maintenance team who are very quick to respond and very flexible with appointment arrangements. Some jobs for obvious reasons require qualified engineers who are not employed by Oakford Estates but are instructed via our approved qualified trades person database to do the repairs and they are always done in a timely fashion. It is more than likely that there is a plausible reason why it took 2 months to complete the works you mentioned. Nonetheless this matter does require further investigation by us in order to prevent it happening again, therefore we would be grateful if you could let us know the exact details of the repairs so that we can look into it further.
