I purchased my new property through Bridgfords and, have to admit was a bit lazy when it came to selling my old one, I chose Bridgfords as it seemed the easy option to stay with the same agent, I wish I had read these reveiws first. I wanted to sell by auction for a stress free sale, on advice from this company I placed my property on sale by online auction with a low guide price to obtain interest but with a reserve, the first veiwing was for 2 prospective buyers, it was made clear to the agent my father would be at the property to allow access, I was advised the purchaser was being brought to the property with the agent after seeing their financila advisor, the other turning up after they had arrived, what happened was, 1 purchaser turned up, my father, who is 76 years old was left to do the veiwing and no sign of the agent, when I contacted I was told that this had been the arrangement all along, yeah right! the second veiwing I was asked to do myself, a couple who already had an offer in for another property but saw mine as a viable option, the offer they had in was for over 10.000 less than I was asking bottom line for mine, needless to say I never heard anything else from them, the third veiwing was done by the agent while I was on holiday abroad, I received a phone call offering me 2,000 less than my reserve price, I refused, then came back with my reserve price but wanted me to take it off the market, I advised I was not happy about this and was told the purchaser was an elderly gentleman who did not understand the concept of online auction and in order for this to progress insisted on it being taken off the market, when I still stated I was not happy about this I was reminded that I had only had 1 offer so far and it had been up for sale for a month, indicating I was unlikely to get any more, I was on holiday, this was all done via a phone call and it was costing me money to receive the call, I felt forced to accept. it was not untill I returned and had access to the internet I found out that a deposit should have been taken on my accepting the bid, this was not done, after 8 weeks of stupid questions that had already been answered, i finally put my foot down and gave a cut off point upon which I would place the property back on the market, I was stalled twice and agreed to extend by a few days totalling 9.5 weeks after accepting the bid, on the Thursday I was advised the purchaser was transferring the deposit in order to exchange contracts, the next day his solicitor contacted to state he no longer wished to buy the property, I asked Bridgfords had they had any other interest and they advised me they hadn't what a total and utter fiasco, I am not experienced in buying and selling property but have learnt a lot during this time. I have wasted all this time, my property went on their website on 07.07.13, I have just managed to get it on the market again with a new agent, by the way if Bridgfords want their 'for sale' sign back for my property I purchased through them, it is in my shed as I got sick of asking them to take it down and it was still there 2 months after I had purchased leading to people knocking on my door for details. the agent also recommended her ex partner to do paid work on the property I had purchased which I thought very unprofessional. When I went to pick my keys up for the property I am selling they were very quick to distance themselves from blame for what had happened and suggested I sack my solicitor, they had tried to blame the delays on them all along when it was obvious to me it was the delaying tactic queries from the purchaser that were casuing the hold up, I think the result speaks for itself on that one, what a load of irresponsible, incompetent numpties, I saw what was coming weeks before it happened but the agents assured me that this was not the case, I may not be the expert but I certainly read that one better than them DO NOT USE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES

So far my experience of Bridgefords is endless non returned emails and calls and wealth of emails from them thanking me for joining them.

Furthermore we scheduled 2 viewings, one for a house no longer on the market and one for a repossessed house the agent deemed "not as good as another on the market, not in a good area, more expensive, badly sized rooms and to view the other house we would have to re book"

It is my understanding, Bridgefords merely play at selling houses. Their customer service is basic and expertise yet to be unfounded. I find them nothing but a frustration to deal with

Signed tenancy. Same afternoon broadband provider rings, emails & texts to try to sell you Internet as Bridgfords have sold your details. Much worse though: without your knowledge Bridgfords provide your details to an Energy Company (Spark) & create an account (in your name) to supply electricity & ...

The property repair office is closed on a Saturday afternoon which is less than ideal. The ensuite had a macerator unit which we thought was faulty due to disgusting smell & noise, apparently not. We never used the toilet because of the smell but would flush ...
