A 2-star review?
That can mean only one thing... someone who went with Hatched that DIDN\'T SELL! Shock Horror!

This is a warning review to read if you have a large house. If you\'ve got a 2 or 3 bed place that will sell like a hot cake then go ahead and use Hatched. It will sell just as well as a local agent and you will save a packet. That\'s a no-brainer.

But for a bigger place this may not be the case.

We put our 6 bedroom house on the market for about 7 months with Hatched and we received 1 viewing. And those people were just door kickers.

Before you say it must be because it was too expensive - nope. We had 4 local agents view and we took an average of their prices. We lowered the price twice with Hatched and neither time did it increase interest.

So perhaps it was the presentation? Nope. Our house was utterly immaculate and has been completely made-over in the last 4 years. This includes two extensions, a top of the range kitchen, 3 new top quality bathrooms and full redecoration.

The main problem you have with any internet agent is that you get no pre-viewing feedback. A local agent can send out details or speak to a buyer directly. If they don\'t like X the estate agent can find out and feed that back. You don\'t get that with the internet. It\'s purely advertising. You can\'t find out why people aren\'t viewing. As they are centrally based you also can\'t find out about the local market. A local agent can advise whether things are slow in the area or not.

As an agent things didn\'t start too well when they turned up late and started snapping pictures in a hurry to get to the next appointment. Several of the pictures were badly composed and I had to re-take several rooms myself. The draft details were littered with spelling and grammar errors. After a couple of iterations things were sorted.

Once listed, they dealt with queries quickly. You get a weekly statistics report but it\'s pretty pointless as you have no idea how many people viewing the site are just browsing vs how many are serious.

In summary, if you\'ve got a small house use them.
If you\'ve got a bigger house or maybe something a bit different such as a period property then try them but go for the option where you only pay if they sell it. I wish I had.
