I have been renting a property with Tobin Jones for a while now and have been only impressed with the level of service they provide. Whenever we have needed anything doing in the house it has been completed in a timely manner to a very good standard by the maintenance company Oculus.

When we first moved into the house it was clean and tidy and all of the paperwork was completed quickly and efficiently by their professional staff members.

We have had a very good experience renting through Tobin Jones and will continue to do so for time yet.

How right. They repaired a staircase and it ended up worse than whence they first started. It's been more than a year now, and still no different, yet they demand their monthly charges!!!! ...

They could have been friendly. They could even have been polite. Not likely - the rot begins and ends with Mr Tobin Jones.

They attempt to charge for all sorts of things. They like to see what they can get away with and clearly view tenants as cerebrally challenged inferior beings.

I Think you may have the wrong agent here? We do not make any charge for check out and there is no charge for registering the deposit. We are registered through and operate the TDS deposit scheme (who are not a free deposit scheme) but we pay the fee. Details of all our charges are listed on each set of property particulars. What agent could do to change your mind?
They are extremely underhand and untrustworthy for both tenants and landlords. They get contractors in to properties when it is not necessary therefore ripping off the landlord and they let tenants move into properties that are not up to the standard they expect when a tenant checks out. I know of others who have had similar bad experiences with them. In fact, I do not personally know of anyone who has been happy with Tobin Jones. Sorry but nothing would make me use this agent again, as a tenant or landlord.

To Tobin Jones in response to your comment of 28/12/2012 - I did complain both times and both times you were not interested. Your 'management' staff at the time (I find it hard to believe you would still be employing those same people) were flippant and unprofessional to say the least. Why would you care though when both times you were not going to make any further money from me? ...

What agent could do to change your mind?
The agent should really have checked the landlord wanted me before taking the holding fee- and it was clear they were never going to accept me, they should have been honest at the outset rather then taking my holding deposit. They shouldn't take a holding deposit and then offer the property to another tenant.
