I'm now a tenant and contacted through Northfields Agency for the flat I live in now. First of all, the agent was on time on the viewing day. He was alright telling me details about the room. However, he failed me after that. I said that I wanted the flat right away on that day, but he wasn't that eager and I was the one who had to reach him all the time since I had to be abroad at that moment. They were late for sending me details about the contract after I already paid the 'taking the property off the market' fee. In a month when I was away, I waited and waited for the contract, scared that I wouldn't get it(because after a month the property is still on the websites) and had to find a new flat all over again. After my patience reached its limit, I sent another email just to get an auto-reply that the agent was on a holiday, without saying anything when he had so much time to tell his customer (Though his priority was the landlord as he stated that himself; still, I paid the agency fee, I am counted as a customer too.) I was the one who made all effort and it wasn't a small amount of money I paid either. However, a lady from the agency, the manager I think, was very eager about sending me the contract and made everything easy and complete in less than a week, which was better that at least someone paid attention. Still, the disappointment didn't end there, on the first day of tenancy I went to get my keys, I signed my name to confirm that I received the key and waited in the office, just to find out that the key wasn't there. I had to go to the property and got the keys from someone else which wasted my time, lucky that that person takes care of my property for the landlord and he is really nice. Overall, it is a frustrating experience, maybe because I don't like people who don't have responsibility, but it wasn't a terrible experience. The agents aren't perfect, but the agency itself isn't bad. Still, I don't know if it will stay the same until I move out or not with the deposit and stuff. Use your own judgment. What I said above is true and every agent related to my experience should have realised which tenant I am by now.
