The worst letting agents I have ever rented through. I originally rented a house through Bush Management and had no problems whatsoever. Then the worst thing happened. JSM bought them out. I had previously rented through JSM before and already knew of their inferior service, so wasn't looking forward to dealing with them again. I have reported numerous problems with the house I am currently renting; poor insulation, damp walls, a leaking roof, unsafe plug sockets to mention a few things and in the space of two years, none of those issues have been fixed. So I have decided to move out and rent somewhere else through a different agency. My contract was due to end on the 31st December, so I gave two months notice from the 31st October. They claimed to not get my letter on the 31st October (even though I posted it through their door myself), so decided to charge me an additional month's rent. After various complaints they refused to let me end my contract when I had requested. So due to thinking that I had to stay an extra month and pay up until January 31st 2014, I didn't look for a new place to move into during November. After my housemate complained they decided to let us move out of the property when we originally asked but because I hadn't looked for a new place due to being under the impression I couldn't move in or pay for two months rent on two properties, I had no choice but to stay committed to their original stated date of January. Obviously now I need to get credit checks and references etc but of course JSM demand a £25+VAT fee just to release a reference of my tenancy with them. So more money I have got to pay. I have looked after and taken good care of the property but I am concerned they will try and charge me for the problems like damp walls etc which I have reported countless times. Absolute joke of a company. They don't care about their customers, they just care about getting more money. After Talk Talk, JSM are by far the worst company I have ever dealt with.
