When I signed up with Morgan Randall for my lease they were reasonably helpful, but all went down hill from there. Never returned my phone calls, useless at answering e-mails and are now trying to deduct whatever they can from my deposit - after being a very good and reliable tenant. I just paid a deposit for a flat with MR last night and was explicitely told by the agent there is NO check-in or check-out fee as this is included in the rather uncompetitive

We are sorry to hear that you are unhappy and would like to resolve any issues you may have.

With regards to your deposit Morgan Randall do not decide on any deductions as this is entirely down to your landlord and you. If you have damaged the property or breached any of the terms in your tenancy then obviously you will be liable for deductions. As you have a check in and check out this vital document should provide the evidence needed to justify any claims. If you feel that your deductions are unreasonable then you can of course refer the matter to the independent deposit protection adjudicators who will decide on the case. The fact that you have a check in and check out should help decide matters extremely quickly and efficiently. The tenancy states clearly that tenants are liable for the check out fee at the prevailing rate and this information is readily available to everyone in store and on our website however, upon reading your grievance we will now look at adding the charging structure into the tenancy agreement for ease of reference in order to avoid any future issues.
