The agent who showed me around the flat was lovely and friendly, though she thought the room was available immediately and it turned out to be unavailable for another 2 weeks. The second agent I dealt with was different. At first he was a little disorganised, then when I went into the office, he had scheduled a doctors appointment for exactly the time I was due to see him. When asked if I needed to do anything more, he said no, and then got back to me later claiming that I needed a guarantor since I am currently staying with my parents. I told him that it would have been good to know this in advance, he claims that there is no way anyone at the company could have known. As "experienced letting agents" I can't understand how that could possibly be true. When I said this, he became very defensive and rude. In the end, I decided I would rather lose the deposit than continue to deal with such an obnoxious agent. When I listed my reasons, including the lack of customer care, he repeated his argument that noone could know a guarantor would be required, and completely ignored my comments about his customer service and how I had been treated as a potential customer.
What agent could do to change your mind?
Had I dealt solely with the first agent, I probably would have continued the process and taken the house, but after dealing with the inconsistent, disorganised and rude agent, I began to look more closely at the failings of this agency. I would not recommend them to anybody.Attached Filesnbsp;

The company has now gone into liquidation. I don't blame it. They never paid my rent on time and many a time it had been well over many months late. It one point they owned me over £3000. Very poor management.

For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
