We were in a long chain.Savills continually assured us they had checked the integrity of the chain but after the collapse of the chain 3 months after our house went under offer....we ended up in a rented house because the children had places at their new schools and we had to move regardless. The Ombudsman investigated and discovered they had never even spoken to the bottom of the chain. I had and discovered that Savills had never informed them of the importance of our move despite repeated assurances that they had. We received a small payment from Savills because of the Ombudsmans investigation,but the experience was a bitter one and proved that Savills Reigate were the embodiment of the the bad reputation that estate agents so richly deserve.
