We paid for an apartment and the landlord pull out on the day of move in. Then proceeded over 3 weeks trying to get our money. It would have been fine if we were called for updates instead we had to call up to get news of the situation. This now became frustrating as we will call up and get no call back. The same was via email. We became increasingly concerned that we were told we can get the money back from them but they wanted the landlord to pay them first. Now considering we are homeless you would have they would have considered this. We went to the office several times and were told the money will be transferred and it never was. Working full time and trying to chase them was stressful and tiresome. When confronting the finance I was told that it was a good will gesture that they were giving our money back, when by law they have to honor the fact they have a doggy landlord. This now cause us to seek advice at citizens advice bureau as it seem something fraudulent was happening. I would stay clear of this company because they are very quick to ask for money but very slow to return it.

Dear Ms Logan.

Thank you for your comment, however I think we both know that your account is inaccurate.

The reality is as follows: we placed an offer on a property in The Sphere on your behalf, the landlord accepted on the condition that all contracts and monies would be forwarded to him within 7 days. 14 days later, you still had not forwarded the funds.

Upon reciept of the funds we passed them (with your agreement) to the landlord and had you sign the tenancy agreement. The day prior to you moving in we recieved a call from the landlord to say he was not willing to proceed any longer, we asked him to return teh funds.

To date, Madison Brook have not recieved the funds, however you have been fully refunded (this was not our legal obligation but a moral one, given that you agreed to pass funds to the landlord).

I am disappointed to see this email, especially given the efforts we made to get you your funds returned.
