We have been renting through Leaders in Haywards Heath for the past 2 years and have had nothing but a bad experience of them - thankfully our property was managed by our awesome landlord and not by Leaders. We have experienced everything from lost paperwork with our bank details on which was then our fault (somehow!) as the rent was taken on time, experiencing their banking problems on taking our rent one month (which whilst not directly their fault, they still proceeded to blame us even though they knew about the problem), asking them to ring you back and not getting the call - you then phone them and without fail the stock phrase is "I was just about to call you", their high fees, being painfully slow when asking them to do something - I could go on! We have now got to move out as our landlord is selling the house and due to a severe lack of properties in the are, we have found one we want through, you guessed it, Leaders, but needs must. I\'ll let you fill in the gaps but it has now taken 3 working days to tie up a new let despite us paying the full asking amount and offering to pay 6 months rent in advance - and it is still not dealt with!! Go figure!!

My name is Neil Simmons I am the lettings manager at the Haywards Heath office. I am sorry you feel you have had nothing but a bad experience during your time as a Leaders tenant. I would be interested to find out some more about the issues you have experienced especially if you are still a tenant of ours. Did you make any official complaint to the office so that we could have dealt with the problems you had? Our fees are all up front and on our website for transparency, an information sheet is always provided on the viewing aswell if not before. We are confident these fees are very competitive and are in line with fees other agents charge and are also reflective of the service we normally aim to provide. All rent is paid by standing order so we do not have control over these payments. Sometimes securing a property for someone can take time depending on the circumstances and how many people are involved in the situation e.g multiple landlords and tenants, we are the middle man most of the time so our timescales for giving answers and tieing things up are dictated by other parties but this is not something we would delay on purpose that I know for sure, there must have been a genuine reason for the delay. Please feel free to call me at the office or respond by email so that we may endeavour to rectify any genuine faults or errors we have made.
