This agency should rename itself Moneykeeper instead of Gatekeeper. They will endeavour to take as much money from you as they possibly can in every possible way;. be it through extortionate charges, so called fees, or threats. They are unscrupulous and will exploit and bully. Do not trust them. They will use high pressure tactics to intimidate you.
We have managed to escape their clutches, although we are still trying to recover the substantial initial deposit. We left the property in immaculate condition, far better than when we entered it. We repaired everything ourselves as we soon found it was a waste of time reporting holes in walls, glass shower doors hanging off ,door handles missing etc etc. Despite assurances nothing was ever repaired or sorted by this agency. Not to mention the filthy carpets and filthy walls ( which we painted throughout at our own expense).
We have reported them to the Trading Standards Commission, particularly in respect of unfair fees and charges. You know the old joke, " How many........does it take to change a lightbulb?" Well, in Gatekeeper's case it apparently costs £30 to replace one ( honestly, we have the email ) and just as much to remove a left behind coffee mug from the property!! ( yes, we have the email about that too). As they are so keen to display pictures of themselves with D
avid Cameron on their website, we have also written to him too to let him know just what sort of an organisation he has operating in his constituency.
Finally, it's very noticeable that all the "positive" comments on this review site are short, with bland comments, lacking in detail and specifics and usually are full of praise for a named individual. The "negative" comments are much longer and give specific detail with recurring themes. Mmmmmm....funny that, well make your own mind up.....

"You have got to be joking! You want my feedback?! 'Terrible' doesn't even start to cover it. You are untrustworthy and money grabbing. It is my pleasure to post on Facebook, AllAgents, Twitter etc. that you tried to withhold some of my deposit for so called 'cleaning' and 'damages' and that the DPS found in my favour and gave me back every penny of the money you tried to steal from me! Not only that, I have now found various other routes to deal with you, one of which is via Shelter's numerous campaigns. It is only because of one of their campaigns that my deposit was held by the DPS and you failed in your thieving attempts! I will also be ensuring that other estate agents know that my part in promoting those campaigns was as a direct result of your greedy, dishonest antics. My signatures and other involvement (as anyone else who gets involved via me) would not have come about had you acted in a fair, honest and reasonable way. I will also be posting this feedback to you on social media. I've ticked the box that allows this review on your site. If it's not there, I'll be posting that omission on social media too! Well done Gatekeeper!"
Could I ask that people go to Shelter's website and sign/share as many of their petitions and/or join as many of their campaigns as you feel is relevant to you?
