Be very aware of using Connells if you hope to sell your home. My experience has been very negative.
The property I was hoping to sell has been on their books for over 2 years, all they want to do is lower and lower the price - of course it will then sell as it will be virtually given away! The price of the property was originally set following the advice of Connell\'s staff...
I have gone through countless \'negotiators\' and several Branch Managers at their central Bournemouth office - until that was closed down with one weeks\' notice and my business transferred to another branch some miles away! I think the last point alone proves that Connells are not being run either efficiently or with the aim of providing a good service to its customers.
They soon came chasing for the money for the HIP that was required at the time (shows how long they\'ve had the property on their books!) but I have still not received a copy of this despite having paid for it... I expect my Small Claims action against them will elicit this documentation.
Poor service, poor attitude and very high staff turnover. Not good at all.
What agent could do to change your mind?
Acted in a professional way promoting the property that had been on their books for a long time.
Had a consistent team of staff in their office rather than a high turnover of negotiators and managers.
Undertaken requests of the vendor ie take up to date photographs of the property.
