I bought our existing property through Bushnell Porter and strongly believed that they were a fantastic organisation that had taken into consideration our needs.
However, it turns out that Busnell Porter are not very popular within the Bordon are and are even resorting to underhand tactics if you use a different estate agents.
We decided to sell our property after living there for 3 years but decided to use a different estate agent as I didn\'t really think very much of Marcus Porter, as he doesn\'t really listen to you as a buyer, he just wants traffic through peoples properties to warrant takng the property on. However, we sold our house through the other estate agent in the matter of hours and the stressful process started. We received a call to say that we were having a survey done on the property and post survey, we receive a call to say that our house has been "down valued" by over £15,000!! Something didn\'t seem right about this, as our house is so unique and seeing as we have 4 full asking price offers something didn\'t seem right. So we appealed the process to find out that the surveyor had called Bushnell Porter to ask about the value or the property to be told that Bushnell has said it was £15k over priced and it would sell for a penny more.
Firstly, i was gobsmacked to hear that, but then it all came clear that Bushnell had done this because they we bitter that they werent given the property to sell! In my mind, they are bunch of underhand fakers, that shouldn\'t be allowed to sell houses.
Please take it from me, that this agent does not have your interests at heart, they want the commission on the sale, which is also a lot higher than other agents and won\'t think twice about trying to screw up your sale because they didnt get your house to sell.
What agent could do to change your mind?
Not give untrue feedback on house prices because they didn\'t get the property to sell. Just underhand tactics.
