Here at Interlet North East we always encourage feedback, good or bad; as it allows us to constantly improve our practises. That’s not to say it’s not disappointing to read negative comments such as the one above. To help clarify your statement regarding Interlet simply being a "middle man with no power" I have included the definiton of a Letting Agent, details as follows; "A letting agent is a United Kingdom term for a facilitator through which an agreement is made between a landlord and tenant for the rental of a residential property. In the UK the agreement between landlord and tenant is normally formalised by the signing of a tenancy agreement". Therefore your comment about us being a middle man is partly correct as we are as per definition " a facilitator". We also accept that as an agent managing landlords properties we are always going to come up against situations where our hands are tied to a certain extent. We always do our upmost to ensure we act in the best interest of both the tenant and landlord whilst trying to mediate a solution agreeable with all parties. However this is not always achievable and in such cases it is inevitable Interlet are at the forefront of the negative comments. What we can ensure our customers is that any complaints are taken seriously and we encourage any customer with a complaint to raise it in the correct manor via the office where your complaint will be dealt with in line with our complaints process. Despite having continuously being asked by landlords to name and shame those tenants who do not conduct their tenancy in the correct manor, whether it be non payment of rent, criminal damage to a landlords property, absconding, etc etc we have always declined this request as we believed it compromises some of our core values which are to treat customers with the same dignity, pride and respect as we would like to be treated ourselves, it’s disappointingly clear that others do not hold the same values. Should we be of any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact the office on 0191 5815709 whee a member of staff will be more than happy to help you. Best regards, Adele Crocker (Branch Manager)
