Worst interaction and customer care I have ever experienced. I am a new landlord and decided to rent my property out. After a week or so I was told a couple and 1 family member had offered on my property. I was told they were 2 professionals tenants and the third tenant wouldn't be referenced as she was pregnant and not working. I wanted professional tenants only but the estate agents were well aware I was pregnant myself and I feel they have made up a story based on my circumstances to play on my emotions and heart strings! I accepted the tenants based on the information I was presented. I later found out by the tenants themselves that they had no children and had never been pregnant, this was completely made up. The story I was told was completely fabricated by the estate agent Karun and Harry, they took advantage of me. A few months after the tenants had moved into the property I discovered from my neighbour that 6 people were living in the property and not the initial 3 that I was told. I spent over 20k refurbing my property and it's very disheartening to know that the people that are renting it out are not the only persons living in it. I booked in an inspection with the tenants directly and I was shocked to see several mattresses in the living room and next to the beds in both bedrooms! There was also a piece of paper sellotaped to my recently new and painted bathroom door which read, rules of the bathroom. It was clear more than 3 persons were living at the property. My neighbours have provided my with cctv from their ring door bell and I'm shocked. The estate agents manage my property however the tenants text and call me when issuesarise sooo what exactly is the management fee that I'm paying for? I have made many complaints about Karun and Harry to the owners of the estate agents, countrywide however these complaints have landed on deaf ears! I have made a complaint about the above because it has and is causing me so much stress… Countrywide who own Bairstow Eves have responded to my complaint saying that the references was a misunderstanding on the estate agents part and apologising… No resolution offered! It wasn't a misunderstanding, I questioned the referencing multiple times and each time I was assured. The referencing process is very strict with any estate agent so simply saying it was a misunderstanding is a lie! With regards to the extra persons living in my property, Bairstow Eves have said this wasn't the case at the start of the tenancy. Despite them managing my property, they haven't offered a resolution or told me what they are going to do to make things right! I have emailed them today informing them the tenants are in breach of their contact and the estate agents are not acting within my best interest! The customer service is awful at this estate agents and they continuously lie anyway they can to agree a deal! They do not take accountability for their mistakes and also have an excuse. There owners countrywide have not been helpful either. I'm currently obtaining legal advice and progressing this!! If you're looking for an honest estate agent, I would urge you to read my review first!
