Landlord has been slow to sort out overflowing gutters and deal with the aftermath of a bathroom leak that flooded the house. Agent and landlord concealed subsidence which also compromised the damp course. This resulted in extreme damp conditions and black mould. It took 8 months to get a dehumidifier by then lots of damage to our own personal property. Landlord thought that nerely opening the windows during the 2 wettest years on record would sort out the damp. When we asked advice concerning our legal status, we were given notice to vacate after the Associate Director breached confidentiality. Beresfords does not comply to the code of practise as set out by the Ombudsman and we find ourselves now in the middle of a legal case. If you are a tenant... avoid Beresfords like hell. Their membership to the professional body\'s is purely a marketing strategy, they don\'t comply at all. If you are a tenant make lots of photo\'s if you are having problems and check that the findings or the quarterly inspection reports are properly noted.
What agent could do to change your mind?
First of all, to act fairly and not misconstrue information.

We would never move any tenants into a property which is unfit for occupation nor conceal subsidence.
