Was taken around a house in Bow, East London. We liked it and asked to put a deposit down there and then, even though the house wasn't ready for 4 weeks.
3 weeks later, no word from them, and no returned calls. Eventually got a call from Osman (I think), saying that the landlord had changed his mind, less than a week before we were due to move. Were infuriatingly vague about how long they'd had this information for.
We asked for our (sizeable) holding deposit back, and was told it would take 6 weeks to be returned. We were furious.
"So this is nothing to do with you making money from the interest then?"
"No no, this is just how long payments take through our system"
6 weeks later, no refund. We call the offices several times a day, every day for a week, and the cowardly director is only available until we mention who's calling, then he's suddenly "just popped out".
We eventually manage to speak to him after a fortnight. He says he forgot to put the refund through, and would do it that day.
So it didn't take 6 weeks then. What a bunch.
