The only positive comment I can make after four years with this agent is that the rent was always paid.
We live abroad so paid for the full management service. Having finally given the agent notice, we returned to redecorate the house, and had a terrible shock. The property had been neglected inside and out, was filthy and had suffered extensive damage. During this time three separate tenants had their deposit returned in full, despite damage and missing items from the inventory. Repairs took weeks or months to get done, were never inspected by the agent and were at best shoddy, at worst incompetent. We found that a longterm leak (which had apparently been repaired) had destroyed our bathroom and the adjoining wall to the bedroom. To summarise, this agent is incompetent , irresponsible and unprofessional, and does not care about landlord or tenant.
What agent could do to change your mind?
Carry out his responsibilities as outlined in the terms of business. Ensure tenants adhere to the tenancy agreement.
Respond to queries, issues and complaints in a timely and efficient manner. Validate work carried out by contractors.
