We chose full management at 10% plus VAT. What did they do?
Lied about electric test report then told me I was mistaken about what they had told me. Lied about status of gas report which resulted in last minute checks being required before tenant moved in. Connells are excellent at spending your money without any consultation with landlord. Once gave me an estimate for £2k of work to repair property that wasn\'t even mine. Failed to manage the property in terms of checking leak had not spread. Charged me for blockage under sink when the ASTA clearly stated it was responsibilty of tenant. Dismissive staff. Have no knowledge of the workings of the Tenants Deposit Scheme resulting in losses to the landlord. They believe that the tenant has the right to ignore letters stating that the Landlord\'s claim on deposit will be sent for adjudication. In my case they allowed the time limit for adjudication to expire becuase the former tenant refused to allow adjudication. Connells has been renting property for only 4 years and the level of experience, knowledge and experience demonstrated shows. Do not use these people. There are 2 or 3 other agents in the area who will manage your property far better. Connells are also attempting to roll out their rental business nationally and from this performance they are bound to fail in a major way.
What agent could do to change your mind?
They need to employ experienced people rather than what appears to be the cheapest available.
