We bought a property through a sealed bid because several people were bidding around asking price. I gather that Ludlow do this quite a lot and although it is a bit stressful, I think it worked out well because it makes the decision quick and because it hadn\'t been on the market for long it meant that we got a good price.

On the positive side we dealt with 2 junior people who were both very good. Responded quickly, were efficient and were accomodating in terms of viewings etc.

On the negative side there was some \'bullying\' tactics by more senior members of the team. For example, having been in the process for several months (for reasons beyond Ludlow\'s control), when we came around to just commencing a negotiation for reduction on price based on survey results (as is standard practice) we were told that the owner would probably \'pull out\' straight away if we asked for any money off at all. It is probably standard accross a lot of estate agents but some of the reactions to what we felt were reasonable requests/negotiations were met with dramatic threats like this, to try and put us off or get us to do something. There was no need for it really.
