After leaving a review on a previous site and Harrsions have taken the listing from there site. I will quickly summarise the problems and mis management of this company and from my dealings with the company would like to advise people to take precautions when dealing with the agents by logging all correspondents.
Firstly we inspected the property and was told certains things in the property would be done prior to moving in, General cleanliness and floorings. But first day we moved in we found that the kitchen had not been clean and was thick with grease and dust. But was told it was professionally cleaned. Then the floor covering in the living room was two different carpets and badly joined with tacks sticking out, as we have children this is dangerous. So we contacted the agents for them to call us liars and say that had not been agreed. So off my own back I have the flooring replaced resulting in a £400 bill on top of nearly paying out £2000 in deposit and rent. Then we were told that his would be a long term let 3-5 years. But later to find out this was not going to be the case, as we told them we were leaving a long term let which was impeccable with a landlord to match. But we needed more room as my family and business was expanding. More suitable accommodation was needed. 12 months into the tenancy we was told the landlord wanted the property back and he had possible six months left tops. Now put in a position with trying to find a property suitable was going to be a problem. As a lot of the property in the area are flats or very high rents. Few months down the line We arrive back to the property with alarms sounding after entering the property I find that a carbon monoxide alarm is activated. Very quickly vacating the property I ring a local plumber to to find the problem and rectify this was on a Sunday but after checking the landlords certificate I find that this had expired 6 months previous. So the following I contact the agents to get passed about between agents all trying to defer liability from themselves with abrupt conversation from them instead of dealing with the problem at hand blame shift seemed to be the dominant factor. Later a engineer comes out to service the boiler
To find a problem with another appliance in the property and was told he would report the problem and have this replaced. After no phone call and getting late in the day I contact the office to say to use a different part of the appliance and there were no answers to why the inspection hasn't been done in time. Unhappy with the responses from the company I write a formal letter of complaint to the company. To find they turn up to my place of work and harassed my partner trying to claim the agent was the victim. Later on I receive phone calls again from the agents And agree a time for them to ring back. During this conversation I was told that my family and I were never at risk because the service hadn't been done in time and this would have happened anyway. Understanding why a landlords certificate is in place is to inspect the appliance and check and possilbly evaluating any future problems that may occur. Otherwise the certificate is pointless. Now looking to take further action.
I would just like people to be cautios when dealing with the company as this could have been a different matter.
