Avoid this agent at all cost! They were agents for our rental property and their service is appalling. They missed 2 gas certificates, which have to legally be done every year. They were unable to work out simple calculations when our tenant fell behind on his rent and in the end I sent them the details of what he owed. When the tenant moved out they didn\'t take meter readings, didn\'t check the inventory, didn\'t check the keys returned and recommend he get his full deposit back even though he had pre-payment meters fitted which would cost us at least £100 to remove! Then they also applied to have our energy supplier changed, without our permission, 2 weeks before the tenant moved out and we were selling the property. None of these errors seemed to concern anyone working there, not even a Director. Very poor.
What agent could do to change your mind?
Acted professionally, done what they were paid for and sorted my complaint quickly.

Martin & Co Leicester does not normally respond to comments on internet forums. We have a formal written complaints process, and anyone remaining dissatisfied once this is exhausted may take their complaint to the Property Ombudsman (www.tpos.co.uk) who will independently investigate it and offer an opinion which is binding upon us. We believe that where genuine complaints are concerned this is far more professional and productive for both parties.

However in light of the unauthorised comments made by Martin & Co Loughborough (which is an entirely separate business not connected to Martin & Co Leicester) I feel I have no alternative but to comment on this occasion.

Despite the claim made in the closing sentence of this former client's feedback, her complaint was taken very seriously. It was investigated thoroughly at Director level and a detailed written reply covering every aspect of the complaint was provided.

We found that a small number of honest mistakes were made, for which we apologised unreservedly. The problems caused by these mistakes were resolved and the landlord suffered no cost, financial loss or other negative consequence as a result of them.

We disagreed with other aspects of this landlord's complaint. In some cases the landlord expected things which were beyond the scope of our service, and in some cases we believed the claims made were factually incorrect.

We closed our reply to the landlord by stating that, should she disagree with our findings she was at liberty to ask the Property Ombudsman to review the complaint independently and impartially and reminded her that if she did so we would be bound by his findings.

We are committed to resolving disputes and if a complaint cannot be resolved at Director level we genuinely welcome the opportunity for The Property Ombudsman to review it independently. We are disappointed that in this case our former client chose not to do this and simply slated us on a public forum.

We are sorry to hear about your experience with Martin & Co. Whilst the Leicester team were looking after the LE11 area at the time. The LE11 is now independently owned by a new Franchisee.
